His horns bend down and then forward at the height of his cheekbones before bending up under a 30-degree angle at his nose bridge and running on for 5 more centimetres. He has an open silver-and-gold nosering with Celtic-style embellishments.

Rostal is the kind of person who quietly listens to a conversation in the corner of the room while coming up with an idea or opinion. He often functions as a middleman between Nax, who wants to plan every detail, and Malin, who just does whatever.
He is a very kind and patient man who is flexible with his plans and is prepared to give leeway to the opinions of others. As such people often mistake him for a pushover.

Rostal enjoys his time with the people of the circus with every fibre in his body. For a long time, he travelled the world on his own and he's simply thrilled that he's found a group that he can go along with to explore the things he wants.

Rostal is often slow with understanding the gravity of a situation which makes him liable for becoming injured in hostile situations or the scapegoat in a fight between fellow circus artists.
His willingness to give priority to the wishes and opinions of others before his own has made him the subject of scolding (often by Malin) as well as he underestimates the value his fellow artists put on his ability to find solutions in the middle.

He often assumes everyone has good intentions towards him and others. This makes him slow in picking up on hostile motives.

Whistling, he can mimic 27 songbirds flawlessly. He's also very adept with sneaking around without being noticed and has very elegant handwriting.

Rostal avoids fights and arguments where he can but refuses to run away from something he can't defuse with words. In reality, this means that people often think he is a coward they can push around only to be flung through the air moments later.
He has a great appreciation for nature and his fellow beings.

While in animal form, Rostal is incapable of casting magic. He quickly tires from casting most of his favourite spells as well.

Ever since he learned to read at the age of 4, he has had a fascination for the beauty and miracles of nature. He quickly emerged himself in reading any books on wild animals and plants he could find even though he was a farmer's son in a small village.
At the age of ten, he was taken on as an apprentice by the village shaman who taught him how to channel the earth's energy.

Rostal has trained many years since childhood to get this far with his skills so he's rather proud of them.

As a druïd, Rostal has specialised in the casting of magic that will keep his presence hidden from animals he's researching and/or enemies as well as some higher difficulty spells that can alter terrain.
His most powerful spells at the moment are earthquake and shadow cloak.
He can turn into several beasts he has studied as well.
His favourite form he gained from the ability is Deinonychus (???) though he prefers to take on the form of an elephant for combat purposes.

Rostal is the most senior out of three beast-tamers at Cirque du Val. He oversees the care and training of every animal.

1. Rostal has access to a rather widespread network of druïds and their allies which he frequently uses to track the circus' reputation.


2. Out of all the permanent artists of the circus, he's probably the least worrisome to outsiders.


3. He has a way with kids and likes their unbridled curiosity towards potentially deadly things


4. He has nearly no issues stemming from his past unlike most others at the circus. The only problems he experiences are due to terrified townsfolk intimidated by his size.

He oversees a betting pool of wether Nax will commit mass murder first or Malin will accidentally unleash the apocalypse.

One time while Rostal was babysitting Opal he lost sight of her and couldn't find her in the camp. He immediately took his dinosaurs and several other "pets" to search for her after notifying both Malin and Nax. He found her by the end of the day in the possession of dwarves who seemed to be of some secret service. He killed all of them, made it look like an attack by wild predators from a nearby forest, and had Malin give the girl a protective amulet and wipe her memory. This was never told to Elgroth as it would likely make him worry to the point of insanity.

Malin du Val: He views her as a good and trustworthy friend although the ease with which she uses magic to mentally control enemies in combat scares him. He is determined to avoid conflict with her knowing that, unless he takes her by surprise, she probably won't think twice about using the same tactics as in normal combat.

Mona & Linda: he's perhaps the only person in the circus the two do not actively avoid. He even has taken one of them on as an assistant beast-tamer though he's unsure which of the two and since it has been several months and he's too afraid to ask.

Naxaschirqal: a terrifying being who's absolutely not to be angered. Although Rostal stands a good chance against him in a one on one fight he'd rather avoid any such situation completely.

Marco the Manticore: He's constantly torn between pet the ugly kitty and avoid the sadistic monster.

Rostal the Minautor/ beast-tamer of the circus has made it his personal task to make sure new recruits don't accidentally anger Nax. He's also one of the few who would be able to stand a chance in a fight relying on strength and speed against the Yuan-ti warrior. Having spent the most time with both founders of the circus he often acts as a mediator between the two.
