Supposed suicide from overdose.

While Nathan and Valerie were dating, Valerie had taken to replacing Nathan's sleeping medication with melatonin, so she could sell the real stuff. He ended up taking more at once, hoping it would help. When she left him, his next bottle of pills was untouched. He accidentally overdosed.
