Unlike the other popular students, Darnell seems intent on minding his own business

Rather aloof and calm, he seems neutral in the conflict among the students. This is largely due to his "Nothing will change, so why bother?" philosophy. He is more task-oriented than people-oriented. Basketball is the only aspect of school he seems to care about, as well as getting good grades, graduating from high school, and getting into a good college.

It is always a certainty that he will act predictably. Keeping his word is what he does. In this way, he stabilizes others prone to drama or reactivity. He doesn't let emotions steer him to make solid decisions. His calm, composed presence keeps a group intact.

Reliable and responsible, he thrives almost anywhere. He is comfortable with new experiences and is at ease with change. Despite stressful circumstances, he has the ability to remain calm.
