A people pleaser pleasing the wrong people.

Markus wants people to be happy. He tries his best to give his sister's a good life and too help Brooklyn get what is rightfully hers.

He can be too protective. Sometimes his loyalty is blind he follows Brooklyn because they're friends and she keeps him out of harms way, but not because she has the right idea of how to shape the world.

Markus dislikes lord Pond, because of Brooklyn's feelings towards him.
He is against killing unless it is absolutely necessary. Later in the story he leaves Brooklyn for her threats against the lives of his siblings.

Markus gets distracted from objectives of tasks and often has little time for well practised talents.
He is pretty good at baking.
His skills in magic are said to be less advanced than that if his brother, but nevertheless he us still quite skilled.

He enjoys spending time with his pairing and sisters.
Since living in the kings tower he has taken up a passion for cooking and baking

Markus will do whatever he sees fit for his friends and family, even if that means someone gets hurt.
He is a very chill person. It is likely that this is where Peter gets his need for composure throughout the story.

Markus has problems deciding on loyalties.

He thinks there's a way to solve everything peacefully.

He helps Brooklyn in her quest of searching out magicians.
He is in charge of monitoring incoming messages, and was the first to know when Peter was spotted

He is also a mediocre magician. Though he was never able to grasp the language of Tal

When he was eighteen Peter planned an escape. But Markus refused to leave and wouldn't allow their sisters to leave either.
Peter left anyways with bitter feelings towards his brother.
His pairing, Brooklyn, whom he had not seen for five years, came and offered a better plan of escape. She even offered him the opportunity to rule along side her in Lower Class.
He accepted and left the guild with his sister's.
He stayed with Brooklyn for two years, working behind the scenes and keeping himself out of her trouble.
