Koura Teina was born in Wytchwood to one of the Silver Sisters who was a midwife there. He has never been told who his father is, and his mother died ten years ago. He lived at Friar’s Gate until he was 21 and was trained by the White Guard. His mother was a scout sent to find the falling stars. When she was 38 she came across a man from the drylands also seeking the fallen star. They spent a week searching for the star together before parting ways. He took the meteor with him, she ended up pregnant. They never saw each other again, and his mother never found her way to the drylands. She was stationed in Wytchwood for four months as a midwife, and gave birth there. Only Izar knows the story. Koura believes his father is from the Dragon Isles. Izar has never said, nor corrected him. His father was Ka B’Deree, who at the time was the Zha (heir apparent). He became king a few months after the encounter. Koura is a warrior and Captain of the Ranger Guard currently fighting for High Prince Daylin of Pallavicini in Navin. He knows the truth about Sabiya and wants to protect King Ilario and the rest of the three kingdoms from her.
