In general, Allison is a caring, polite, ambitious, brave, and smart young woman. She will chase a goal down until she can't anymore, no matter what it takes. She tries to avoid direct confrontation but instead likes to smooth talk and sneak her way around a situation.

Throughout the story, Allison's main motivation is to find her brother and make her family whole again.

Allison tends to be stubborn once she decides on something. She does small acts of rebellion to ruffle her parents' feathers. She tends to be closed off to people at first due to past bullying issues, thus keeping her attached to her small group of friends. She tends to let her mind wander and spiral into a panic during bad situations.

Allison does tend to be wary around the topic of religion due to past bullying by some of the so-called pious girls of her school.

Her sharp memory serves her well throughout the story. She is also an excellent baker and likes making stuff for Tori to take home.

In her spare time, Allison enjoys reading, baking, gardening, and doing puzzles.

Allison was born in Bend, Oregon to Spencer and Laurel Atwood. Her mother abandoned the family when she was a baby, causing her father to become protective. She moved to Georgia when she was six, which felt like a bit of a culture shock to her. She befriended Mark shortly after. When she was eleven, her father married Mark's mother. She came out as a lesbian a few years later, and while her family accepted her, several of her so-called friends did not. After her brother's abduction, her parents became even more protective of her, fearing they may lose her too.
