Gabriel was born to Imelda and Antonio Martinez in Knoxville, Tennessee. He moved to Georgia when he was three. As a child, Gabriel was close with both of his brothers, particularly Michael. He found himself wandering around the outdoors and the streets with his brothers once his parents started arguing. When Gabriel was seven, he received a scar on his chin while roughhousing with Damien. When his mother opened a restaurant in town, he found himself working in the back washing dishes to keep him out of trouble. At the age of thirteen, the arguing among his parents ended when his father abandoned the family, leaving behind nothing but a few possessions and a St. Bernard puppy. Gabriel met Mark when he was sixteen, eventually resulting in them becoming best friends.
