Although he's a mega asshole, his ego and the way others view him is very important. As long as they see him as untouchable, he cannot be hurt. He is full of regret and shame, anger and lust, and none of it he loves.

At first its pleasure, anything that peaked his fancy he wished to acquire, admire, and smash. Afterward, it became protecting those he cared about, the first family who couldn't abandon him no matter what he did wrong.

Very racist, and relatively sexist.

He grew up in a pristine, rich upbringing. His father was loaded and his mother was good at the stock market. He learned multiple languages, and promptly forgot them. The only instrument he remembered after he dropped private lessons, was Violin. His father was extremely abusive, and his mother had a weak heart, and couldn't take much. She once fainted while his father and he were fighting, and almost died. His mother supports him secretly, while his father refuses to take part in August's life after multiple arrests, all bought off of his record.

He had a stray beagle for a few years until his father found out and had it brought to the pound and put down for 'biting'.

Augustus the Asshole, as he's known on campus, already had a heartbreaker reputation before coming to campus, the most notorious being Annalise Ivory Harvard. He broke half the school rules within the first 2 months on campus and broke the rest after the Arrival. His parents' money keeps the campus from kicking him out. When he came back from the Arrival, however, he didn't just leave like Christopher and Collin. He stayed in contact with Collin slightly but stayed with Anna and Kent in their apartment building.
