Juniper Stivron-du Cronos, latern known as Juni Moriarty was born into a complex legacy, the only daughter of Freki du Cronos and his late wife, Mary Stivron. Her story began just before the Atlantic War, but her entry into the world came at a tragic cost. Mary passed away during childbirth—not only because Juni was a difficult baby to bring into the world (being a blend of wolf, human, dragon, and vampire bloodlines), but also because Mary had been severely weakened at the time. The strain was too much, and Juni was left without her mother from the very start.

After her mother’s death, Freki appointed Nicoletta and Medea as the child's sponsors, and, as their sponsored, Juni was raised by the Norrington-Argento matrimony alongside their children Jonathan and Yoru. She was given the false last name 'Moriarty' (Freki's own fake last name) to protect her from the burden of the du Cronos legacy.

WOLF FORM
Just like her grandmother Akane, Juni is a Velkanian she-wolf with little to no draconic tampering in her DNA like her old man, and in her true form she resembles a brown-furred wolf. Standing at 2ft 6inches (75 cm) tall at the withers, she has a very athletic build, built for running. Her weight, carefully balanced between power and agility, averages around 40–45 kg (88–100 lbs)—dense with lean, coiled muscle rather than bulk, making her frame ideal for long-distance pursuits and sudden bursts of motion.

Juni is still in her teenage years, so her body has not yet fully matured into the lethal refinement of a prime Velkanian wolf. While the same chthonic adaptations are present — muscle density, skeletal reinforcement, and accelerated neurology — they function at an incomplete stage, leaving her powerful compared to natural wolves her age, but inconsistent and taxing when pushed too far. Her strength is more promising than perfected, as bursts of startling power mixed with clumsy overextension.

She is quick enough to surprise, but not yet honed enough to dictate a battlefield the way a mature Velkanian wolf can.

Velkanian wolves possess a remarkably extended lifespan compared to their mundane counterparts. While most natural wolves rarely live beyond 14 years, Velkanian wolves enjoy a lifespan equivalent to that of a human. This longevity grants them time not only to grow stronger, but to accumulate battle experience, refine their instincts, and pass down knowledge across generations. It is unknown, though, if her lifespan will be longer like her father's or simply similar to humans, raising understandable concerns about her father outliving her.

Juni’s sense of smell has already surpassed the norm for her kind, reaching levels most Velkanian wolves don’t achieve even in adulthood. Her gift doesn’t just tell her where someone went—it tells her who they are, how they feel, and what lingers on them from the world beyond.

This makes her, even as a teenager, a natural tracker and investigator. She interprets scent the way others read expressions or tones of voice. In practice, it allows her to anticipate actions before they occur, almost as if she’s one step ahead of the present moment.

Voluntary Olfactory Block (“Nasal Shutters”)
Inherited from her father’s parallel hearing adaptation, Juni possesses specialized olfactory shutters: muscular flaps that can close off her nasal passages much like eyelids. This allows her to manually block out scents, preventing sensory overload in dense environments, or shielding herself from weaponized odors, toxins, or magical pollutants. With practice, she can partially filter scents, “dialing down” her perception rather than shutting it off entirely.

Interpretation Lag
While her detection is exceptional, Juni is still young. She sometimes misinterprets signals—smelling “fear” and assuming cowardice, when it’s actually controlled tension, for example. With training, this margin of error will shrink.
