Nature
As the result of Medea and Laurel merging, her personality is a mixture of the two. Though it is impossible to tell which counterpart's personality is the dominant one or a composite of both the necromancer and the goddess, but in terms of humor and a lesser tough attitude, Asura acts more similar to Medea.
She also exhibits Laurel's cockiness and inclination for taunting others, and enjoys toying with enemies she's almost always seen with a confident, almost arrogant smirk on her face, but remaining practical and efficient. She rarely speaks during her intervention in the Atlantic War apart from commanding, giving orders and such. In a similar vein to Medea, Asura can be ruthless once she had determined a foe to be a threat, and will show no mercy or hesitation in eliminating them as demonstrated during the climax of the War.
After the battle was over, however, she shows that she's pretty much aware of at least her fusees' feelings, since part of the reason she went to the Underworld to split herself back was to stop Medea's pain.
Social
Laurel's Naginata, the Kogeta no Tenshi , who became the Bakuretsu no Tenshi when Asura infected it with her power.
History
Asura is the result of the Amalgam ritual between Medea Norrington and Nicoletta da Firenze. Asura is one of the most powerful characters in the original Norrington's Desire.
During the Atlantic War, in a desperate attempt to save her friends (given she herself just got incapacitated by getting her legs broken) uses all, literally, all of her Umbrakinesis and throws it all the way to Freki du Cronos, to turn him into a Velkai, now basically a Hellhound, with the agreement that he'd protect her loved ones for her. At the cost of, well, losing a good chunk of Umbrakinesis for good. Nicoletta was able to get her in time to see her at the brink of death and in desperation, performed the Amalgam ritual and they both become Asura

Notes
TRIVIA:
• Her name, Asura, derives from the asuras of Hindu tradition, a class of beings often portrayed as the antagonistic counterparts of the Devas.
• According to her, however, Asura is merely a modern transliteration. She claims that her name is spelled Ashurah, a name linked etymologically and thematically to Asherah, a prominent goddess in several ancient Semitic religions.
• Ontologically, Asura is distinct from both Medea and Nicoletta. Though she retains the complete memory of their lives, she does not identify as either host.
Powers/Abilities
AMALGAM
Class: Hybrid Mana Construct / Amalgam Entity
Origin Type: Mortal-Mana Fusion
Threat Level: Cataclysmic
The Amalgam Process is a theoretical fusion of two mana systems into a single coherent field — a phenomenon once considered impossible under standard mana calculus.
Where ordinary synchronization (like linked spellwork or resonance tuning) aligns frequencies without merging them, the Amalgam forcibly collapses both subjects’ mana signatures into one waveform. It’s like overlapping two incompatible energy patterns until they stabilize as a third, hybrid signature.
Status:
A documented but extreme magical event. There are verified instances throughout history — mostly in military or experimental contexts — but fewer than a few hundred ever recorded. Many were unstable or short-lived, and survivors are exceedingly rare. Everyone in the magical community knows the theory; almost no one’s personally witnessed it.
The Process
1. Preconditions:
• Two individuals with compatible mana patterns.
• A functional stabilizer: a Magical Engineering device designed to synchronize two mana signatures and maintain coherence during the fusion.
• One participant must be at or near mana collapse (critically injured, dying, or drained beyond safe capacity). The second must be in full control, able to channel and regulate both mana flows.
2. The Core Principle:
• The Amalgam functions through mana complementarity. Two souls whose energies can fill each other’s gaps are more likely to stabilize than those who are too similar.
• If both use nearly identical mana types, the resonance is unstable — the fields interfere and cancel out.
• If the differences are extreme but mathematically resonant (for instance, one user’s energy output neutralizes what the other naturally lacks), the merge forms a balanced, self-sustaining hybrid field.
3. Execution:
• The healthy caster uses the stabilizer to project their mana into the dying partner, matching frequencies through precise control. When coherence is achieved, the fields collapse into one waveform — not one possessing the other, but both reconstructing as a third being: the Amalgam.
• The resulting entity’s body, mind, and mana circuits belong to the new person (Asura, in this case), while both original consciousnesses persist internally.
CORE CAPABILITIES
Unified Mana Field
Combines Chthonic entropy with disciplined mana resonance; can manipulate destructive and stabilizing forces simultaneously.
Weapon Apotheosis
Whisper becomes the linchpin of their shared existence. Infused with primordial resonance, it acts as both focus and anchor of the Amalgam’s being.
Enhanced Conduit (Whisper Shotgun)
Channeling residual Umbrakinesis into Conqueror and Distortion Bullets; capable of area-effect mana disruption, multi-target suppression, and extreme precision attacks.
Internal Duality
Contains both Medea’s and Nicoletta’s consciousnesses as internal advisors; can process multiple perspectives and mana applications in real time.
Blessings
The Amalgam may extend fragments of its fused essence to chosen mortals, granting them a temporary ascension beyond their natural limits. This “blessing” is double-edged: while it ignites untapped strength, it taxes the vessel to breaking. A body unfit for such transcendence may combust instantly, or collapse fatally once the gift fades. Blessings may be freely bestowed—or stolen by those who dare consume the Amalgam’s blood. Yet theft is no guarantee of survival, for divine essence tolerates no unworthy vessel.
DRAWBACKS
Ritual Risk
Think of the ritual as surgery on reality itself. There’s no room for error. One wrong step, one misaligned chant, one interruption — and one of the fusees dies instantly. The casting party doesn’t escape, either; they get trapped in the body, powerless, until the corpse finally rots away. That could mean decades before they’re free. So, the risk is absolute: perfection or death.
Cognitive Instability
When two users fuse, the result isn’t always clean. Sometimes the new “Amalgam” decides it likes existing as one being and refuses to separate. In that case, both identities are basically overwritten. What’s left is neither one or the other, but something new, and the original identities aren’t erased, but they are submerged. They linger as echoes (voices that can advise, plead, or rage) but like any inner conscience, they can be ignored.
Post-Ritual Trauma
Even when the ritual succeeds, the body and soul take massive strain. Think of it like overclocking a machine until it nearly melts. Separation doesn’t reset them back to normal; scars remain. Medea wakes up blind, Nicoletta was stuck in a comas, and more. The price is permanent damage.
Medea gives up her soul to save the world.
Nicoletta gives up her humanity to save Medea.
Together, they become something neither divine nor human — Asura.
