Causes
not a genetic disease
living in a phased section of reality to long and then coming into contact with either a different phase wave length or actual reality without taking proper precautions

once you have it you have to wait it out, this could take hours to years

causes parts of you to de-phase
if parts of you are just missing it will make doing somethings hard
bleeding from orifices, becoming intangible, death
anywhere from a couple of hours to years
to a normal person Phase sickness is a death sentence to the sorts of people who can phase between planes, it's an incredibly unpleasant and difficult to handle disease
Treatment
de-phase acclimation by slowly reintegrating with reality
it becomes very obvious when your hand or another part of your body simply disappears for a bit
