Overview
Aetharion, the Shattered God
Aetharion is the god of the elements. It rules wind, fire, earth, and water elementals as its best known elements but holds dominion over all others such as ice, lightning, etc.
- War
- Tempest
Appearance
Aetharion appears as a shattered crystal. In its previous form, it was a beautiful crystal where each of the countless facets represented one of the elements. Aetharion's elemental energies of fire, wind, water, and earth would ripple across the facets.
Now, in its elemental plane, it lies shattered, shards of which are scattered across both the elemental plane and the material.
History
The destruction of Aetharion heralded the Aethersea disaster. With this god's balance disrupted (until it reforms), the aethersea will be a tempest of chaotic elemental energy.
Aetharion's realm has merged with the material plane turning the oceans into the Aethersea, and washing over the world with chaotic elemental energy through a cataclysm a hundred years prior. You cannot kill a god, so Aetharion's clerics still have access to its energies, however, if in the Aethersea, they can become unpredictable. It's unknown exactly what has become of Aetharion or what specifically may have befallen it. However, it's now referred to as the Shattered God, because its normally crystaline beauty is theorized by leading clerics to be shattered and broken.
