Sword with launching/rebuilding mechanism
A sword capable of picking up scrap via magnets. This picked up scrap is the compressed by the field into a Extremely sharp blade. The blade can also launch out as a projectile with a press of a button.
Looks
Made up of any metal lying around. It commonly looks rusty and is very pitted/scratched. The core of the sword is made of steel. In the hilt is a battery that launches the scrap collected in sword form.
Depends, most of the time it's the weight of a short sword. However the blade can extend or shrink with the hilt energy, done by adjusting a knob on the handle.
History
The mag sword was made at James' 3rd grade science class. Which would be 479A.E.
Abilities
The magic of magnetism bullshit. The sword creates a magnetic field around a feromagnetic core. The size and shape is determined by a knob on the handle, near the thumb. A quick twist will cause the blade to fire via switching the poles of the tang and blade. Pushing in attracts nearby scrap and forces it into a very sharp blade.

This is only one part of his arsenal, he can also create expert weapons/armor on a short time frame. He also has impeccable timing and has been known to be unbeatable in surviving in the wild. This is due to his superior building skills, and trap skills
