Notes
Currently worn by the wife of King Ilario, Queen Margetta of Dakshin. Nine hundred years ago it was made by the royal jeweler of King Lietus for his wife Queen Lurra. Izar Zaria was in possession of it sixty years ago, before any of the current Monarchs ruled and before she was head of the Silver Sisterhood. It came into her possession from a maid in the household of King Ilario's Great Uncle, King Nazim. When the King died unexpectedly, choking on his dinner nine months after his crowning, the throne passed to the oldest surviving male heir, Ilario's father. A maidservant passed it to Izar during the funeral, telling her to hide it at Friar's gate, as King Nazim had acquired it by killing his mistress, the maid's sister, to steal it. After the funeral feast, the maid was found drowned on the beach. Izar told no one she had it and spent five years learning the mistress' family name, Tarbus. She never learned how they had acquired the ring. It disappeared thirty-six years later when King Ilario came with most of his court to Friar's Gate to have his coronation blessed. Margetta's family was in attendance, but she had not married the king yet. After they left, Izar discovered the hall of scrolls had been ransacked. The ring, hidden in a box behind a stone in the walls next to the accounting scrolls, was missing. Ten years later at the wedding of King Ilario and Margetta, the third wife of the king, she was wearing it. Izar is not sure how Margetta got the ring, or why, if she had the ring all along, she didn't step up to marry the king earlier.
