Elliott Island has a cold, coastal climate, with warm, humid summers and freezing, bitter winters. The land is called "The Cruel Maiden" in reference to its dreary and cold overall climate. Extreme rains, storms, and blizzards are commonplace.
History
In 1610, settlers from the Celtic Nations sailed to the new world seeking a better life. These settlers included a vast amount of practicing witches, warlocks, and sorcerers, many of whom had been raised in the highlands of Scotland and Ireland. The settled on the East shore, and, though with several exceptions, most townspeople stuck to the East shore, fearing reports of beasts such as the wendigo and the shogga.
