Noble houses manage large swathes of land, but their power is carefully controlled by the crown. The royal court is a seething pit of vipers, just as quick to hoist you up as drag you down.

Denara are coins made of copper, bronze, and silver. Gold, not easily found in the North, is not a part of their currency system. When trading with other countries, trades are more often made in goods than currency.
