History

History

Kawn was established after the Great Divide. The Divide not only diminished the Kepian territory, but changed the social situation very suddenly with the introductions of elves. Logically, elves aren’t different from fairies in the ways that matter, but the circumstances bred hatred in many.

Escalating the problems, half-elves and half-fairies started to become more commonplace. Of course, half-fairies existed before the events of the Great Divide, but the war changed how they were viewed. Half-faires began to be seen as those trying to escape, just like those who removed their wings to become elves. Afterall, half-fairies can’t use their wings for flight, and that can be viewed as one step away from removal. The disdain for half-elves goes without saying, though they are also feared and demonized, since they appear human. Nymphs, however, are the offspring of a fairy and an elf. They are extremely rare, and genetically no different than fairies, but if you are revealed to be a nymph, you are made an outcast.

That is precisely why Kawn was founded. It began with Cassiopeia and Delara. Cassie was an elf and Delara was a fairy, but they both agreed that the Treaty of Erios was a mistake and that the elves never should have been exiled in the first place. They worked to slowly build an underground organization, and eventually passed leadership on to Bazza and Aris before they died.

Currently, the consensus reached is that in order to rebuild a better world, they must first destroy both Fawynne and Draya. Since the Council is spread out and replaceable, this means eliminating all elves. In the case of Draya, they simply need to take control of the royal family.
