Everything is true, it wouldn't be a very good guide if it wasn't.

As hunting became more prevalent, guides like this one helped standardize hunter weaponry without having to create systems for distribution.

Anyone can pick up a Weapon Encyclopedia and pour over its contents and it gives hunters an easier time figuring out what weapons they might need for their area and for what they're fighting.

It was first written so that both local and Guild blacksmiths would be able to create weapons that fit under Guild regulations (have to be a certain size, weight, caliber, etc.)

Some people decide to take the shell of one gun and try to add the inner workings of another where they can, and those people are eventually arrested for possessing an illegally modified Hunter Weapon.

Some of the pictures aren't as colorful or some printings are a little grainy.

Originated from the Hunters Guild about a decade after it was formed

The original version didn't have many bowgun entries because there weren't many that were created at that point.

Yearly editions are printed because the Guild makes modifications based on what the hunting season is like and whether or not new weapons have been added or removed. It's very rare for weapons to be removed, likely due to either their ease of modding or whether or not the weapon has been linked to overhunting (hunting a specific monster for a very long time because the gun itself is very good or otherwise popular).
