  • Unlike Direct Arcanism Magic, Elemental Magic draws from sources beyond caster's mind.

  • Therefore, study and understanding of sources beyond those of the caster's creation is required. Oftentimes, however, Elemental Arcanism produces more stable spells.

  • Elemental Arcanism is divided into four 'schools' of study:
    *Fire
    *Water/Frost
    *Earth
    *Air

  • Generally speaking, most casters choose to master one 'school' as opposed to being a jack of all trades and a master of none.

Visuals

Visual appearance depends entirely on the element being utilized as a 'base'. Visual appearance also depends on the knowledge of the caster regarding the element they're attempting to utilize as a 'base' for the casting of their spell.

Effects

  • With sufficient knowledge and understanding of the element(s) of their choosing, those who choose to study Elemental Magic can unleash the power of the element(s) they've learned about.

  • They utilize knowledge on the element(s) as a 'base' for the casting of the spell.

  • Depends largely on shape of spell being cast

  • Hurled globes, sometimes referred to by casters as 'bolts' are a common means of manifesting Elemental Arcanism.

  • Some Elemental Magic users, equipped with enough experience in exerting their will, and with sufficient knowledge regarding the element of their choosing, can create constructs known as Elementals.

  • These Elementals are 'false' and not like those that passively originate from the 'Aura' of each Elemental Aspect, dwelling in Elemental Plane. 'False' Elementals possess no life of their own.

  • Fire can be 'conjured' without requiring any external sources

  • Water can be produced freely, and, therefore, bodies of water aren't required to be fetched from or damaged by mortal activities

  • Air can be manipulated by the caster in order to generate clean sources of power, as opposed to engaging in the burning of earthen fuels.

  • Given a sufficient number of casters, enough time, and enough resources to keep the casters going, entire landmasses could potentially be raised from the depths of the ocean.

Neutral effects

  • As with all elements, those 'created' by Elemental Magic users can be chaotic and unpredictable, especially those that are 'conjured' by inexperienced casters.

  • 'False' Elementals, too, can be difficult to control. Though possessing no will of their own, the unrestrained elements of their form may act as they would if they were generated through a natural means.

Negative effects

  • Learning and studying in order to become proficient with the use of Elemental Magic and the casting of spells that utilize elemental forces as a 'base' can be extremely rigorous, purely for mental reasons.

  • Damage to the caster and to those around them, given experience, is a very likely outcome when practicing with Elemental Magic.

  • 'False' Elementals can run 'out of control' if successfully conjured by a caster who lacks the proper knowledge on how to exert their own will in such a way that an outside being, even one that is effectively a lifeless husk can be 'controlled'.

Magic becomes easier to cast as the caster gains greater mastery over the art of exerting their willpower, in order to create 'Mana', and generate 'Aura'.

Limitations

Save for extremely unique individuals, 'Mana' is refined through knowing exertion of willpower. This can quickly become tiring and outright dangerous for inexperienced casters, who can find themselves collapsing during the middle of attempting to cast. They can even faint if they overexert themselves to a dangerous degree.
