The ability for mages to detect Magical Energy. Also known as "sixth sense," magic sense is caused by subtle effects of outside energy on one's Soul and Energy Channels, a sort of push and pull similar to the effects of a magnetic field. While the effect is extremely small, it is enough for the brain to register as a physical sensation.

Most liken the "feeling" of magic to static electricity. An Earth analogue would be the feeling of standing near an old CRT monitor. It may even cause one's hair to stand on end. Magic sense can be triggered by energy in the air, or simply by standing near a mage charging up a spell.

Higher amounts or concentrations of energy in one's body will strengthen their magic sense. As a result, powerful mages naturally develop a honed magic sense over time. It is also possible to hone it with practice, learning to separate the subtlest sensations from irrelevant information. Even non-mages may learn to detect magic with enough dedication.

Especially powerful spells, such as the Trinity, are more likely to release a lot of energy into the air, where it disperses over time. Many people may feel the effects, sometimes miles away. The Divine Powers are especially prone to this.
