A type of Elemental Energy sometimes called the element of location. Falls under Old Magic. Glows dark blue when pure. Being an Old element, Space energy can be found anywhere. It is virtually undetectable except to the most attuned Magic Sense, but plays a vital role: holding together the fabric of space. If Space energy is concentrated in a smaller area, it can create an area that appears small from the outside, but is in reality much larger. The opposite effect can occur if the same amount of energy is spread further out.

A Space mage's Soul Core for the element is always limited in size, making powerful spells difficult and time-consuming to cast. As a result, the most common applications are spells of Energy Manipulation, moving the Space energy already present in an area. This energy is normally linked to form an even progression from one location to another, but if one pulls apart this "fabric" hard enough, they can rip open a hole. This hole manifests as a portal, a sort of spiral-shaped gate hovering in the air. The caster can change the destination of this portal by opening another hole in the fabric of space somewhere else and connecting the two. The caster does not need to be in the same physical location as the other end, but a greater distance traveled means the portal will be more difficult and time-consuming to open.

A caster must generally have been to the place they're opening a portal to, or otherwise be intimately familiar with it. Physical matter (such as a living being) may travel through a portal without issue. Sound carries as well, though it may arrive at the other end distorted depending on the skill of the caster. Light does not, however, so it is not possible to see to the other side.
