History
Atsalis was created in the The Great Empire era for the Atsalisian.
Some time before or during the fall of the Great Empire, Atsalis changed from the humble home of the Atsalisians to a completely fortified military system. All Atsalisians disappeared from across the empire and returned to Atsalis. A massive shield embedded with weapons went up covering the entire sphere of the Atsalis system, cutting them off from the rest of space.
During the expansion of the GRU , GRU ships attempted to gain access to the system and attacked the shield, drawing a military response from the Atsalisians. In a series of battles, the GRU were pushed back into the space around Werdans.
Panicked at their clear space inferiority, the GRU fell back to Werdans and made preparations to defend against invasion. The Atsalisians wanted to keep the GRU away from their system, but did not want to risk a costly planetary invasion. This lead to a tense stand off in the near space of the planet with GRU and Atsalisian warships trading blows.
Tensions eventually began to cool when the GRU made attempts to contact and communicate with the Atsalisians. They were eventually able to work out a truce where both agreed to stay out of the other's system, while the space between was open to transit. While this allowed a pause to all-out war, tense encounters between the two still happened. To this day, rumors of GRU vessels spotting Atsalisians vessels hiding in the depths of Werdans, or even deeper in GRU space, occasionally echo in the tales of GRU spacers, but no such sighting have ever been confirmed.
