- were second only to Trolls to emerge as a dominant species
- were second only to Trolls to be indirectly affected by the Aspect of Life
- lived in unison with the Trolls, ruled over Grandforge and Grimcore, fought against threats during War of the Swarm
- relations with Troll allies naturally deteriorated following War of the Swarm
- Grandforge troubled once again later by Hla'is, conflicts sparked Underwar
- prefer Science to any form of Magic
