Overview
Choism
An non-proselytizing religion adhered by the descendants of eastern refugees.
History
Choism was founded by the prophet Bellis Martor, in the now-collapsed Chobbian Empire. Bellis Martor went on to declare himself the emperor of Chobbia, founding a dynasty that would last centuries.
After Arykal, a rival kingdom, invaded and persecuted Chobbia, thousands upon thousands of Choists fled their homes in search of a refuge. Most went to Vesi, a kingdom known for its close ties with Chobbia. After the Chobbian Empire fell, the Choist refugees stayed in the Kingdom of Vesi, having nowhere else to go to.
Beliefs
It is a henotheistic religion, meaning it mostly worships one god (Cho), but the existences of other gods are deemed possible.
The Eastern Highlands.
Choism follows Utilitarianism, which that increasing the greater good and decreasing the greater bad is the obligation of all Choists.
A hall in which ancestors and relatives alike embark on the ambitions they could never achieve during their earthly career. Arts, songs, and cooking flourish in this seemingly endless hall, and outside is a boundless outdoors with breathtaking mountain ranged, forests, and plains.
Traditions
It is tradition to have a feast whenever there is a surplus of food, which stems from the Chobbian Empire's affinity for eating. An inadvertent result of this is that Choists regularly develop new agricultural technology to fuel this ritual, making their fields more bountiful than any other in the Commonwealth.
