"Yeah…"

"Oh, baby," she crooned, wrapping him up in her arms and singing him a soft lullaby.

He fell asleep

Nyx giggled, kissed his forehead, and fell asleep too.

He snored

Nyx, fortunately, was a deep sleeper, and didn't notice. That much. It did occasionally make its way into her dreams.

He dreamt of her

Nyx turned over in her sleep and spooned against him, the rough ridges of the scars on her back rubbing against his stomach. She was dreaming of crimson eyes.

He dreamt of Teal eyes

Nyx stayed asleep.

The thunderstorm, which had quieted for a while, suddenly came back with full force. Lightning split the sky, and thunder vibrated through the air, and Nyx blinked awake.

He was asleep

Nyx curled up against him and, tilting her head up, kissed the bottom of his chin. It was dark outside, and dark in the living room.

He kissed her sleepily

"Hey, sleepy," she whispered, snuggling deeper into him. The scars on her back could be felt through the thin material of her tank top.

"Hm?" He asked

"I said, hey, sleepy."

"Yes?"

"Hi." She smiled up at him.

"Hello."

"Listen to that storm," she said softly.

"I hear it…"

"Some storm, huh?"

"Yep."

"Does it storm like this a lot here?"

"No… it mostly snows…"

"Snow?" Something deep within her eyes lit up.

"Yeah…" He said. And sure enough, it started snowing. There was about 2 inches of it

Nyx's teal eyes lit up. "Snow!"
She wiggled out from underneath the blanket and hurried to the windows, staring out at it eagerly. Her tank top had slid up her back, revealing the scars.

"What happened to your back?"
