"So, are we blowing up a building, then?"

"Only if you want to." He said, finishing his wine glass

"So you were kidding."

"Nope." He said, smirking. He pulled out C4

Nyx stared at it wordlessly.

"Wanna do it?"

"That depends on which building we blow up."

"Just a random one."

"Where?"

"In this town."

"Would we… hurt anyone?"

"Not really."

"I'd better put some warmer clothes on, then." She grinned and headed for the stairs. "It's a cold night."

"Sure is…" He put on a warm jacket and a scarf

Nyx privately thought he looked cute in the scarf, but would never say such a thing. She was wearing a bobble hat, a black coat, and thin gloves.

"You look nice…"

"Thanks." The tip of her nose turned pink, or maybe that was just the cold. "Let's go blow something up."

"Yeah…" they went to an random, abandoned building.

"What did this used to be?"

"A church."

Nyx said nothing, just looked up at the gaping broken windows. Snow was still falling, landing in her bobble hat and hood.

"But then I came along… oh, good memories…"

"Why do you want to blow up something that has good memories?"

"Because I wanna."

Nyx understood that, to some level. Phoenix, after all, had blown up the lab where she'd grown up, where she'd made so many happy memories. And yet…
