"No thanks." He finished placing it.

"Before you blow it up, I have to check something." She closed her eyes and sent out her field, discovering a small bundle of energy in a far corner. She wasn't letting anything die this time. "There's mice, I think, over there. I'll go get them out so we don't kill anything." She stepped into the church, unaware that the crumbling floor held pitfalls.

"No. There's pitfalls in the floor!"

Nyx turned her head, having not heard him clearly, but it was too late: she was already mid-stride, her foot stepping into nothingness, centre of gravity tipping. With a yelp, she toppled into the pit at her feet.

He stopped time to grab her.
He put her outside the church and unfroze time

Nyx, shaking slightly, leaned her head into his chest. "Thanks."

"No problem. Who knows where that leads?"

"I'd like to know," she murmured.

"I don't."

"Okay."
There were a few moments of silence.
"Well, I still have to get the mice to get out."

"Don't worry. They already have."

She closed her eyes. The mice had indeed disappeared. "Well, time to blow things up, then."

"Let's walk away from it, like badasses." He said, having the remote detonator in his hand

She looked up at him curiously. "What do you mean?"

"You know… cool people don't look at explosions?"

She closed her eyes, memory driving a spike through her heart.
"Yeah, we could do that."

"Okay then…" He said, walking away.

Nyx walked after him.

After a minute, he detonated the C4. It was the coolest explosion ever

Nyx winced slightly at the explosion, instinctively huddling close to Vozreal.

He kept walking, holding Nyx's hand

Nyx grabbed his hand in both of hers. Both of her palms easily fit inside of his.

They got back to the house
