Nyx, startled, let instinct take over; loading her right spur with venom, she stabbed his chest from behind and roundhouse-kicked him, grabbing his arm and twisting it behind him. When she realised it was just Vozreal, she relaxed and let him go, her cheeks burning. "Oh. Sorry. You startled me. Don't do that!" Then she realised that she had stabbed him. "Oh - are you all right?"

It healed very fast in front of her eyes

She sighed, relieved. "Good. I'm sorry, it's just - instinct."

"It's okay." He did it again, this time appearing in front of her

She scowled at him. "It's almost like you want me to stab you again."

He smiled.
"Maybe."

Her eyebrows furrowed, but she said nothing.

"Anyways… let's start. So basically…" He started teaching her how to stop time. It consisted of saying "Temporal shift" to stop it, and "Temporal Restoration" To resume time. But you had to say it with force.

Nyx felt awkward and silly doing it, but kept trying. Eventually, she managed to stop time.
"Temporal Restoration!" she said, but nothing happened.
"Temporal Restoration!"
Nothing.
She tried again. And again. And again, but everything remained frozen.
Don't panic, Nyx.
She grabbed the hem of Vozreal's suit jacket, hoping that would help.
"Temporal Restoration."
Nothing.
"Temporal Restoration!"
Nothing.
"Temporal Restoration!"
Time unfroze, and she let out a relieved sigh.

"So… how was it??" He asked

"Scary." Her mouth trembled slightly.

"Don't worry… it'll be less scary the more you do it."

"Good." I'm not so sure about that.

"Believe me, when I tried it the first time, I was absolutely terrified, but then I did it. Again, and again, and again."

"So… practise makes perfect."

"Yes. Yes it does."

"All right. But I think I'll try it again later. If you don't mind."

"Not at all. There's a training room next to your room, if you need it."

There was a rather uncomfortable silence.

"Anyways… go train, if you want…"

She bit her lip. She wanted to stay with him, but didn't know how to voice it.
"Maybe later."

"Anywhere you wanna go today?" He asked

Anywhere is fine, as long as you're there.
"No, nowhere specific." Definitely not Nevada.
She looked around desperately for something to do, and her eyes caught the pool through one of the library windows.
"We could go swimming again."

"Okay." He went to get his swim suit on.

Nyx put on a black one-piece with cutouts on the sides.

He was already by the pool, 6 pack shining in sweat

Nyx felt her cheeks burn when she saw him, and distracted herself by diving, head-first, into the deep end.

He dipped into the pool and swam over to her

Nyx, who was near the bottom, kicked off and shoved his chest playfully, grinning.

He played dead. He was very good at that
