Val snorts. "That sounds like her problem, not yours or mine."

“Fair,” Auretta giggles. “She sucks-“

"So did my parents. In my first life, at least. My second and third life parents were better, though." Val says, smiling slightly.

Nori smiles. “Oh yeah. I should know, I beat them up”

Auretta smiles. “I’ve only had one life…and it’s not over yet!” she tells them. “Man…I wish I was like you guys…”

"You really want to be like us, Auretta? I could teach you every way to kill a person. But I doubt you want that." Val says, turning away.

Nori smirks. “Well, you’ve got wings now. You’re more like us than before!” He sighs, smiling sadly. “Besides, you don’t wanna be like me.”

“Why not?” Auretta asks Nori, noticing his sadness. “You’re caring, smart, hilarious…and you helped me!”

Val whirls. "It isn't always fun and games. Death isn't all fun and games. It's serious. Don't forget that." she says sharply, the mountain range drowned out in a tidal wave of light. When it clears, the landscape is a vast crater where the mountains were, going down past the mantle to the outer core of the earth. She looks horrified by what she'd just done. By the fact that she lost control.

Auretta gasps. “…Val…” she mutters, looking around. “Are…Are you okay?”

Val just collapses to her knees. She doesn't say a word in response, just sits there. Broken.

Auretta hugs her gently. “Hey…Hey, it’s okay…” she mumbles.

"N- no… it really isn't, Auretta… I-" her voice breaks.

Nori grins at Aurettas words, blushing slightly, then falls to the ground as he watches the vastness of light destroy the mountains. He stares at Val, shocked, and slowly makes his way to her side. “V-val? What’s going on??”

Auretta hugs Val tightly before glancing up at Nori. “I-I don’t know what’s going on-“

Val looks at Nori. "I- it's all just so much. I didn't expect to get brought back. I didn't expect to nearly die earlier, I didn't expect you, or these emotions I'm feeling! I didn't even want to feel this, but I do, a- and I wish I didn't!" she sobs.

Auretta holds Val close to her. “Hey…it’s okay. You’ll get through this…we’re here for you-“

Val just keeps crying, trying to speak, the words incoherent.

Nori hugs her as well, a concerned look on his face. “Hey, I didn’t ask for this either, but it happened. And we will figure this out, okay? Just calm down”

Auretta nods. “Yeah…we’ll figure this out-“

Val looks at Nori. "Y- you don't get it! I- I'm in love with you, and I d- don't want to be! Y- you could do so much better than me! I- I saw how you and Lukas looked at each other, how he looked at me…" her words trail off as she realises what she'd just said. "Oh- oh gods…" She pulls away from Nori and Auretta and gets up, taking off faster than Nori could ever hope to catch up.

(I love bombshells like that. It's actually one of my favourite tropes, lmao!)

Nori just stares in utter shock. He knew what she felt, but he didn’t think she’d actually admit it. “Shit…” is all he says as he watches her leave. He falls to the ground on his knees, head in hands. “I fucked everything up again. Didn’t I.”

(On one hand, we have the smooth motherfuckers like Wren, Aiden and Serenity. On the other hand, we have Val, who's a complete trainwreck, lmao!)

Val looks down, horrified. She realises that Nori must be feeling very bad, and arrows back down, wrapping Nori in a hug. "I- I'm so, so sorry, Nori…"

(Ikr?? The only smooth character I have is Nori, and once he realizes someone actually likes him he freaks out XD everyone else is either super awkward or ace :’)

Nori steps back. Just staring at the ground. He tries to think of something to say, but nothing comes

Val looks at Nori, hurt, then walks a few feet away. I fucked up…

Nori sighs, closing his eyes as he hides his face in his hands. “Shit. Val, don’t leave. I… shit…”

Val turns back to Nori. "What?"

Auretta looks between them, tearing up. No…no, no, no- she started panicking.
