They're not a child. They're a little on the young side, but they're old enough to be on they're own. And yes, you really wouldn't want to live in one of my books. They are dark, depraved worlds with no redeeming qualities and the people are only there to SUFFER

I'm writing a story about this magic academy, and there's gonna be this one little kid who gets tortured because of her powers. She escapes, of course, and she comes to the academy. The academy gets invaded, and she gets captured and tortured, of course. Then her friends try to rescue her, but they end up watching her die a slow and painful death.

Lavinia attempts to kill Oleander but she's disarmed, brought before his court, and has one hand cut off, the other broken, and her tongue cut out. Then she gets locked up.
Taca watched both her parents die of a disease, watched her entire village get burned to the ground, learned of her best friend's death three months after it had happened, ended up dragged into a war started by her power crazed aunt. Her new friend, and possibly a love that will never be found again, died in her arms, she ended up with and injury that was poisoned that was slowly killing her. Got her soul torn from her body and almost died from that. She watched her aunt beat the tar out of her cousin, Chris. Chris, also being her aunt's son. Her leg was broken by a rock that fell and trapped her in a building that was coming down. She was barely rescued from that building by another friend who didn't end up getting out of the building alive. And she has a huge fear of enclosed spaces so I had to be that person and I played on her fear a lot.

from my newest story, i have Declan, whose dad is an arsonist who set their childhood home on fire while his mom was still in it, so she died in her sleep. Declan got sent to an orphanage, then discovered his fire powers because he had a nightmare and accidentally set his own pants on fire. His powers are also ironic because of his dad being an arsonist and everything, so he kinda hates them at first. He also becomes friends, then lovers, with a guy who turns out to be a psycho. Also, after meeting Eric, he almost dies several times and breaks so many bones jesus.
Then i have Eric, who goes through a bunch of stuff with Declan. He gets mentally tortured by the Psychotic Ex, sees Declan almost die, then has his powers triggered and then it's a monstruous kinda gross power that he hates and clashes violently with his personality.

I killed Mako even tho she was preparing her confession to the one she loved (Hibiki) and sadly he even loved her as well
Also she died on front of his eyes so bcuz of that he thinks that it's his fault that she died so he suffered from depression n such YwY
Daniel has severe PTSD and depression from his childhood traumas (watching his adopted parents get eaten alive, his father forcing his brother onto him)
Fenh’im (the character, not the place in my story) gets completely ignored and discredited by all the other Eldritch before getting killed and the Eldritch basically used Fenh’im’s remains to create their meeting place..also called Fenh’im.
It really sucks because Fenh’im was one of the only ‘nice’ eldritch and the rest of the eldritch were like “nah buddy, we’re gonna kill you and (technically) use your corpse to make a new dimension.

I don’t think I mentioned my boy Evan, who is a pawn of his evil father. He does some bad stuff, and I’m not excusing him, but it was all because he was convinced if he did everything right his father would really love him. So he lead my protag Grace along and made her fall in love with him Joke’s on him since he was starved for affection and fell for her hard. before betraying her in a power play deal and getting her locked up. Then he comes to his senses and rebels and helps her escape and (probably I haven’t figured it out quite) manages to get his dad put in prison.

Kye was the result of rape, and his father was considered evil, which he was, but the race he was from was the reason as well. But because of his father he was considered a curse and a demon. When he was only twelve his mother was deemed a witch and she was executed. In front of Kye. He went crazy and ended up killing a bunch of people without realizing what he was doing until later when it really hit him of his actions. After that he ran away but everyone knew of the demon child. When he finally thought he had friends they ended up literally throwing him into a hole in the ground, leaving him stranded in a huge cave complex with little food and no light. He was trapped down there for three months before finally getting out. When he found his way back to people civilization he was thought to be a ghost back from the dead. But soon people learned that he was really alive and began mocking him again, and calling him a demon again. He has never been accepted by society, and probably never will be, but he strives to show people that he can be better than they expect of him. He now spends most of his time exploring caves and isolating himself from people, because they don't like him, and they never will.

Kore was running from her abusive ex-husband (Ryka) for the longest time and she eventually wound up being Tāne's wife. But unfortunately, Ryka found her. Ryka brutally butchered Kore; carving words into her, chopping off her fingers, slitting her tongue and neck, etc. Ryka also noticed she had a little baby bump. In anger, he dug up her fetus using a steaming hot blade. Ryka then chopped up the fetus and ate it because he's a sicko. All of this made Kore bleed out and die. But we don't just stop there. Oh no, that would be too nice. Ryka was suddenly regretting his actions. And, when they were married, he would always apologize to Kore by having sex with her. So, he violated her corpse, hoping she would forgive him in the afterlife. Ryka eventually left. However, Tyler (Kore and Tāne's son) was watching all of that. So, he's scarred for life. The one thing that can be taken from that is that I'm not nice to my characters, even if they're dead.
Can I do another? (I hope so because I am) Next up is my favorite homicidal princess, Kanisha. She does not have a good relationship with her citizens. One day, the king left to settle business on another planet. Kani and her brother were left in charge of the kingdom. However, the citizens saw this as an opportunity. They thought if they attacked the king's children while he was gone, he would be nicer to them when he got back (they were wrong). They stormed the castle and tied down Kani and her brother. Kani watched helplessly as her own subjects carved words and evil sigils into her little brother. They then tossed him into a nearby lake of lava (the royal family can survive that, but it's still extremely painful) and dragged him out again, to watch what they would do to Kani. 20 random men decided to rape her. Some even violated her for a second time. She would later find out that she was impregnated by this. They continued to sexually and emotionally torture her and her brother for 3 days straight (so everyone had a chance to hurt them). When the king returned, they all left. The king was only more brutal towards his kids, hitting and yelling at them constantly for not protecting the family's honor. Only a month into her pregnancy, Kani lost her child due to violent attacks from her subjects and father.

Danny's father died the moment he turned 12 and attained his powers because that's what happens to the descendants of Death.
