"You're really not doing well, huh?" Rantaro asked softly. "Just relax… You'll feel better soon… The doctors will figure out what's wrong and get you started on some medicine, and you'll start feeling better soon after…"

He remained calm the entire time that they waited for a doctor to see Kaito. He was calm and collected, assuring Kaito that things would get better. After a little bit, a doctor came to see Kaito. Rantaro asked if he could accompany Kaito, though he was told that he could not since things seemed bad. He sighed softly as they left with Kaito, leaving alone to his growing and slightly overwhelming feeling of anxiety.

Kaito faded in and out of awareness, the temperature getting to him

Rantaro noted that as he saw the doctor leave with Kaito. Once he was completely alone, he couldn't help but pace, his anxiety slowly beginning to overwhelm him. His lover was potentially dying, and he couldn't do anything to stop it. He gradually began panicking as time passed, unable to calm down as he cried. He texted a friend about it, but he didn't even know who, as he wasn't paying attention. He just needed someone to be there for him.

Kokichi got the text and immediately went to help

By the time that Kokichi arrived at the hospital, Rantaro was on the verge of having a full on panic attack. He was standing there, shaking, crying, and hyperventilating. Things were not looking too good for him. The anxiety that he usually kept under control during stressful situations became so overwhelming that he couldn't take it anymore. He let it consume him, leaving him close to a panic attack.

Kokichi sighed and pulled rantaro into a hug “ hey I'm here..”

"So…so you're…the one I texted…huh…?" Rantaro asked softly, hugging Kokichi back. "I…I dunno…wh-what's going on… I-I'm worried…and I…I dunno why… I'm usually calm…and…and now…I…I'm about…to…to panic…"

“ because it's someone you care for deeply”

Rantaro nodded. "Y-yeah…b-but…wh-why…why…am I…panicking…?" he asked between short, sharp breaths. "I…I can't…do this…"

“ you can, I promise you can,” kokichis said softlyv

Rantaro shook his head. As he began to enter a complete panic attack, his breathing only became quicker and sharper, and due to the lack of proper oxygen intake, he was beginning to feel a bit lightheaded.

“ rantaro, you need to breathe..”

"I…I know…" Rantaro replied. "I…I just….c-can't…foc-focus…"

“ then focus on me.”

"I…I can try…" Rantaro told him. "Just…um…" he trailed off as he tightened his grip on Kokichi due to momentarily losing his balance.

Kokichi held him tightly “ I won't leave you..”

Rantaro appreciated the comfort, but he didn't say anything at all. He had yet to calm at all, and somehow, his breathing only became sharper and quicker at the time. It was starting to affect him physically, and it showed with how pale and unsteady he became.

Kokichi called for a doctor to help him “hey!”

A doctor quickly walked over to them. "Is something wrong?" they asked softly. "Do either of you need anything?"

“ I think my friend is having an anxiety attack”

The doctor nodded. "He does appear to be rather anxious right now," they stated. "I don't know if he's clinging onto you for support or comfort at the moment, but how bad is his anxiety attack getting?"

“ bad considering I'm holding him up.”

"Ah, so, pretty bad, then?" they sighed softly. "Is it about the patient he was with earlier? I saw him earlier when I came to examine a patient."

“ yeah it's his lover”

"I cannot blame him…" they sighed. "I really do not mean to worsen this, but his lover has completely lost consciousness and has yet to regain it…" they stated, noticing an increase in the severity of Rantaro's anxiety attack after. "Ah, um, you should sit him down, and I'll bring in another doctor. If he suddenly begins to lose consciousness, just let someone know."

“ okay.. Rantaro, please sit down “

Rantaro quickly sat down once Kokichi requested him to. He was scared, worried about Kaito, thinking that he was gonna lose the other. It didn't help that he was usually calm, so the new feeling of anxiety quickly overpowered his mind and sent him into a severe anxiety attack quickly. He couldn't even calm himself down. He was stuck making worst case scenarios as the anxiety continued to consume his mind.

“ rantaro, hell be alright.”

"I…I dunno…" Rantaro replied, not wanting to talk much at the time.

“ hell pull out of it I promise”
