Grabbing her bandages, Melanthea wraps up her arm, getting sprayed in the face by her own blood in the process, before blacking out.
(… how do you get… sprayed…???)
(Trust me, it can happen.)
//are you suicidal at age 7

Cornelius strolled over with a bag of licorice. "Hey I got this from my backpack. I don't know how long it's been in-" He looked up and glanced from Cato to Asteria to Jay. "What happened?"
“Um.” Cato looked from Jay to Cornelius. “Dunno, man. Just… quiet…” He looked over at Jay. “Breathe. The warm breeze passes over you, comforting you and healing your scars. Nothing can hurt you here.” He motioned for Cornelius to get a pillow or something.
(Corn: casually walks in Yo I got cand- pardon me what the actual fu-)
“D-don’t slap yourself.” Asteria instructed, as like, kindly as she could.
(Beautiful)
(Corn: casually walks in Yo I got cand- pardon me what the actual fu-)
(I love it.)
Cornelius glanced at the bag of candy, then at Jay. "Would this help?"
“I-I don’t know? Usually???” Asteria said, trying to keep the panic out of her voice.
“No get a pillow,” Cato said. “Candy works after. I think.”

(No, but I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression at age four.)

//that sounds a bit far fetched
"Okay." Cornelius placed his candy carefully on the floor and grabbed a pillow from the nearby couch. "Here ya go."
Then, Jay seemed to be voicing his thoughts. All the things his parents had told him. "You're useless! Stop crying! You're weak, you're weak, you're weak!" He cradled his head in his hands, digging his nails into his scalp and likely drawing blood. "We never even wanted you, you're just a mistake and you can't even do that right!" Jay sobbed, the phrases becoming more and more broken up.
(OH MY GAWD QAQ)

(Trust me, it happens a lot in my family.)
//I’m dying Jay no
“Hey, hey, it’s going to be alright,” Cato said, desperately trying to soothe Jay. “It’s okay. You’re okay. We need you. You are worth so much to us, to Hogwarts. It’s okay.”

//gorgeous
(I feel like this whole Jay thing is far fetched)
(Fun fact, Corn, Asteria, and… someone else said that I think)
//Cato :) or he’s at least thinking it cause a part of me is
(Wait wha we said what.)
(Well, I don't think he was diagnosed with anxiety or depression at age four. At that age you hardly even perceive the world properly, so being depressed and feeling hopeless with such a limited understanding of the universe is near impossible)
(Pardon me but what the actual fu-)
(No I'm talking about Jay reacting to this whole thing
it just seems far fetched to me)

//I mean
If he’s been abused since forever
And it’s been drilled into his head since childhood
It’s not entirely unrealistic to have an extreme reaction
Just not totally
Um
How do I put this
It’s just quite extreme, yeah
Jay looked up at Cato, trying desperately to calm himself down. I can't breathe… Everything was rather foggy and he couldn't think straight, as he wasn't really getting enough oxygen. He felt very lightheaded and his vision was near useless to him at this point.
(Trust me, if you dad goes to prison and your best friend who is also your neighbor turns on you because her parents did and tell you it was your fault and ignores you for years, it would happen. I thought at four that I wasn't good enough for my dad, and that was why he was "making me better." But I'm getting better now that Mom Brooklynn married Mom Cadence. And my cousin is making progress with the voices in her head.)
“You can breathe,” Cato said, trying a different approach. “You’re alright. Everything is okay.”
(I get that
Just seems a bit
how do I say this
dramatic and romanticized)

//um
Okay
That’s a bit
I’m just not gonna say anything
