“Feel better?”

@croccin-champagne

Ophelia shifted her weight a bit and wondered why Sam was here. She actually kind of liked him, but the attention was disconcerting.

@Hawkeye

“I’m here to make a friend, if you’re wondering.” Sam said, his ability to read people shining through.

“Indeed.” Trent smiled at Lydia. “Where is Sam?” He asked, noticing the boy’s disappearance.

@croccin-champagne

"And you chose me, of all people."

@Hawkeye

Lydia smiled and said, “Making a friend.”
Meanwhile Sam replied with “Why not?”

@croccin-champagne

She blinked, not quite sure how to respond to that.

“He is quite charismatic.” Trent complimented, spotting Sam next to Ophelia. “Is he still angry with you? I’d like to apologize to him myself for keeping you.”

@Hawkeye

“Oh, no, don’t do that. He’s fine. Just dramatic.”

@Hawkeye

Sam smiled and asked, “So how old are you?”

@croccin-champagne

"Sixteen. Why do you ask."

@Hawkeye

“Just curious! I’m 12, but Dia always says I act like a little kid. I don’t think I do, I think I’m probably just hyper.” Sam thought for a moment. “That’s not the right word. I like people and I like talking.”

“I don’t want to make a bad impression.” Trenton argued. He paused for a moment, thinking. “Did he notice your hair?”

@croccin-champagne

"Outgoing. You're strange, you know." The ghost of a smile crossed her lips.

@Hawkeye

Lydia smiled. “He’s not very observant when it comes to me.”
Sam grinned an almost identical smile to the one Lydia had, and said, “Yep!”

Trent chuckled, “Well I certainly admire his energy.”

@croccin-champagne

Ophelia chuckled. "Alright, guess you win. Friends works for me if it works for you."

@Hawkeye

“He’s a good kid. I’m glad he’s my brother.” Lydia said.
“Hey, you should come meet my sister! She’ll like you!” Sam spoke in exclamation points a lot.

“He reminds me of myself when I was younger.” Trenton froze after speaking. “Nit to say I am an elder, but… you understand, correct?”

@Hawkeye

“Yeah, I understand.” Lydia thought for a second, and added, “I can’t possubly imagine you acting like him.”

@croccin-champagne

Ophelia thought for a second before shrugging. "Can't see the harm in that."

@Hawkeye

Sam dragged Ophelia towards where his sister and her friend were sitting. Lydia looked up and waved.

Trenton laughed. “I’d prefer not to tell the stories. Oliver would, if you ever meet him.” Trent shook his head, reminiscing a little. He lifted his head up as he saw Sam, smiling at the boy.

@croccin-champagne

Ophelia nodded in greeting.

@Hawkeye

Sam and Lydia shared a look. Neither of them really had words to explain what it meant, but they knew. “He’s done it again.” Lydia said loudly.
Sam stuck his tongue out at her before saying, “Dia, this is Ophelia. Ophelia, this is Lydia, my sister. And that’s her friend.”

@croccin-champagne

"Nice to meet both of you." Her face flickered in pain for a second before the expression was gone, replaced by her usually stony composure.

“Greetings.” Trenton replied, straighting out his posture. His face had gone stoic as well, his eyes flashing with uncertainty.

@Hawkeye

Lydia subtly touched Trent’s hand. Sam smiled up at Ophelia, leading her up to the table.

Trent’s gaze switched to Lydia and he forced himself to relax a bit. He still appeared to be a bit tense, but a hint of a smile played on his lips.

@croccin-champagne

Ophelia's eyes flickered between the two at the table before focusing back on Sam as she followed him, trying to to limp.
