Sam sat down across from his sister, patting the seat next to him for Ophelia to sit down. “Sorry, man, I forgot your name.” He said, looking at Trent. Lydia rolled her eyes, squeezing Trent’s hand.

She sat down next to him and looked off passed the other two, like she was focusing on something else.

“Trenton Horne.” He replied gruffly. He didn’t squeeze Lydia’s hand back, remaining stiff. “It’s quite alright, Sam. We’ve only met once.” He looked over at Ophelila quickly, trying to decide if she was a threat or not. After this morning he didn’t want any more risks.

Ophelia focused on Trenton, her gaze calculating before softening.

Watching Trent, Lydia have Sam their signal of ‘this situation might get bad, be prepared to run’. She could read people well, and while both people were tensed up, she could tell that neither of them would cause a problem unless provoked.
Sam nodded, having zero intent to run if things got bad.

Trent took notice of Ophelia’s inspection and seemed to relax once her expression had softened. Whatever unspoken communication that took place soothed him slightly. He looked back over at Sam. “You can call me Trent though.” His voice evened out, back to his usual monotone. He implied it for Ophelia to use the nickname as well.

Ophelia wasn't exactly sure what was supposed to happen next, and started fiddling with the band again.

Lydia relaxed as well, now that Trent wasn’t as on edge. She winked at her brother, who smiled.

“Are y’all—“ Trent broke into an impromptu and noticeably forced coughing fit. “Are you all coming to the campfire tonight after dinner?” He finished, clearing his throat uncomfortably.

“I am!” Sam said excitedly. Lydia nodded in confirmation.

Trenton nodded. “I’ll be playing the guitar tonight. William is letting me borrow one from the Apollo cabin.” He smiled softly, unwilling to show how excited he was.

Lydia grinned at him, seeing right through the uncaring façade.

"I take it the campfire is enjoyable, then."

Trent looked over at Ophelia, swiftly nodding. “You should attend. It contains a good atmosphere.”

Lydia and Sam both nodded emphatically.

She looked off into the distance before nodding. "Less practice in the arena, but alright. I'm looking forward to seeing you play, Trent."

“I’ll be looking forward to seeing you there as well.” He dipped his head respectfully, still unsure as how he should treat Ophelia.

“Er…. ditto.” Lydia said uncomfortably.

Trent looked at Lydia, a bit confused by her response. He tilted his head to the side slightly. “Is everything alright? Do you need me to get you something?” He was mainly worried this had something to do with injuries she’d taken from Blair this morning.

“‘M fine.” She replied, gaining her composure back. Her brother watched her out of the corner of his eye in concern.

Ophelia propped her injured leg up onto the other one and tightened the cloth, lost in thought. "You don't sound fine. No offense."

Blair yawned, he regretted his life choices at the moment. He hoped Aria was doing better, she may have lost her leg but she was a tough little fucker.

“No, I’m alright. Weird flashback.”

“If you’re certain…” Trent seemed unconvinced, but he didn’t want to press her.

“I’m certain.” Lydia said, shaking her head as though to rid herself of whatever had just happened.

Trent looked at Lydia, cracking a small grin. “You used proper diction!”
