Welcome, @writers-blocked. I'll try to help explain anything I can. I'm learning here with ya. I'm about 2 years in, and I still consider myself a baby witch.
So I've tried some spells and stuff, just with whatever I can find in my house mostly for healing and so on but like. I don't really…. feel the spells? I feel closer to when I just put random things in bottles or collect things I feel just have like. Meaning. Capital M Meaning. And none of it really conforms to any specific practices. Also while I believe in other gods I Do Not want to fuck with them out of fear I'll a, disappoint them somehow and b, just. I don't wanna make a huge commitment since I've heard serving a deity is a big commitment. I don't think I'm really anything and like. I'm worried I'm doing this all wrong.
About the spells: I've done spells friends have recommended to me or that I found either in books about the topic or online but I didn't find any reliable information and I'm only more confused tbh.
Well, first off, you don't have to do spells. You're still valid if right now you just want to collect resources. Maybe someday you'll be ready to connect with a deity and will do so. You're also new, so I don't think any gods will be disappointed that you're not reaching out or are making a few mistakes. Spells can also take quite a while to work.
I know but like. Nothing I do personally has anything even close to witchcraft except that it vaguely mimics certain practices. Like, I just. If I want something to happen or need some help or guidance or whatever. I'm like. Put the Things with the Meaning into a Bottle and then put Bottle in a place that feels Correct and see what happens and it usually works but it feels wrong I guess? And I don't think I'm even really practicing, I'm just doing dumb shit and hoping the flow of energy in the world takes a hint. I wanna know how to do this stuff for real and like. Ugh. I'm just. DJakfjfjajdjdjdjaksidjf.
Honestly? That's how most of us start out.
I recommend doing more research. A lot more than you think you will need to. Many things within the practice can get really scary really fast and the only way to protect yourself is with knowledge. You want to find the right path for you–not end up messing with things from a closed practice you know?
It's okay that nothing makes sense yet, but it will. You're still new.

Research.
Start a grimoire and write every single thing down.
Get some rainwater and on the next full moon, make some moonwater.
Just gonna add: write everything pertinent to your practice down. Everyone practices differently in their own way, especially if you are solitary. For instance, take eggshells. Mir uses eggshells a lot for natural protection. However, I have never once used eggshells in my craft. Does that mean one of us is wrong? Absolutely not. It just shows that there are many ways to practice the craft; no one way is "correct".
For me, I've found that tarot cards were a much easier divination tool to funnel my energy through than something like a pendulum. I've found that I can pinpoint my meditation to certain areas instead of just my whole body, so long as I'm holding the right stones to focus on. It's things like this you'll learn in time through some trial and error.
More importantly: get a sense for what feels right. If it doesn't feel right for you, then don't do it. Listen to your intuition–it'll be your natural guide through this journey.

I am super proud of myself although I am still a bit of a fledgling I am getting better at actually interacting with spirits and I think my top favorites are Kyle (which he is new but so is most of the human spirits i know) and Tanaka. I named Tanaka this because well he shares a soul with my oldest teddy bear named Freddy (not like FNAF) and the fact that he is usually 5' 6" but can turn to this chibi-like state where he acts like a backpack and I love him. Kyle is a big mood and Tanaka likes to take my depression when i'm sad.

Well Tanaka is over 1400 years old (at least his soul is anyway anyway not the bear and as for the ears I think he does that for fun) and Kyle is just a mood that likes to sleep in dark corners. If you want this verified I will refer you to my friend that sees them too. She has been helping me with my sight (of the spirits) for a while now. If you want to think I am crazy that is fine I mean I wouldn't believe me either if I hadn't have seen them.

My friend had a sleep paralysis demon that she has started seeing while not asleep or even at night. It's often doing things with no real purpose and sometimes she says it talks to her. Any ideas what might be happening as I'm worried about how it's affecting her?
It's not that I have different views, it's the fact that I can't find anything regarding something similar. I don't just want testimony from your friend, I also want testimony from the masses, but it's starting to appear that your situation is that of a singularity.

If they wanted me dead I would be Red and I understand the concern. But all I do is go with the flow so how could there be a certain thing that I want them to be and not only one but three other people have seen them so how can that be? if i may ask without being hostile
