The Thread for Disturbing Facts
I don't think it would work. [The raccoons, now that I have to clarify.] I can fit through an 8x12 inch hole. Probably. (I used to be able to fit through a 4x6 hole. But I've grown since then. Though afterwards I still managed to worm my way through an exposed wall to unlock the door of another room.) But that doesn't mean I can fit in a room that big. Kind of like a water balloon. You can put a small one through a hole the size of a large marble, but that doesn't mean it'll fit in a tube of those dimensions.
Um. Guys. My science. Also octo up the butt is a terrible idea. They bite.
More fun, am I right?

Yes
Lobsters can have depression, and human anti depressants work on them. House flys drink alcohol (I dunno how but they do) to forget about their worries, and cockroaches will starve themselves because they can have body image issues (kinda weird I know, but true)

i don’t know what that is but please for the love of heck don’t tell me

if you want a really disturbing fact, found this one on another site a week ago and it’s haunted me since
Anyone can have a brain aneurysm at any age. No matter your health situation.
My 21-year old friend had one as he walked in the door to his house. He still lived with his mother, father and sister, and his parents were making dinner in the kitchen.
He asked for a glass of water, intending to take some painkillers for his sore head.
And then he just fell over.
The doctors said he was dead before he hit the floor.
It was, and still is, devastating.
…have fun sleeping tonight
and waking up tomorrow morning
and going about your daily tasks
knowing at any moment you or someone you love could be gone in the blink of an eye-

I mean, if I had the lifespan of a fly….
speaking of cockroaches :D
apparently people who handle cockroaches eventually develop allergies to them, making them unable to drink pre-ground coffee due to all the bug remains that get ground in accidentally with the batches.

I mean, I already knew that. Death really ceases to faze you after you experience it even after just one time.
"Memento mori"
"Remember death"
Remember, we all must die.
eh i’ve had multiple loved ones pass and it just gets worse every time
maybe the numbness only comes after a few years

I don't really experience grief much so I cannot relate
Mir! Spoilers!
Yeah, grief is interesting. I don't feel it always. Rarely in fact. Probably some reaction to trauma or something.
i’m the kind of person who could accidentally walk into a stranger’s funeral while looking for the snack booth and instead of leaving end up mourning and crying excessively with everyone else, keeping the guy close in my heart for the rest of my life despite never even meeting him or knowing he existed
what i’m trying to say is i’m quite sensitive with these things

It's originally from Plato but okay

Not really numb, more like a cushion. Most days, you're still laying on it, you just don't feel pain since the cushion is there. Some days you can still feel it as sharp as it was when it first occurred, cuz sometimes the cushion just likes to up and disappear some days.
These last three comments were True Beauty. ('Cept Red just posted so oh well.)

I wish I had that. I'm big jealous.
Count your blessings, you psychopaths.
When my possibly sister died and my grandpa died I was messed up. But after I got over that I was pretty chill.
I've had several family members die, but mostly they were all old and I didn't know them that well so it didn't really affect me. But earlier this year, my mom's cousin died and that tore me up for a while, even though I didn't know him that well and felt terrible for being so sad. It was a lot of staring numbly and aggressive letter writing.
i’m still grieving from like 8 years ago
it never really goes away
Oh that's too bad.

I've only experienced 2 deaths of people who were actually close to me
My great grandpa, but I don't remember that much, he was 90 and I was like 5
And my little cousin a few years back
I’ve had 4
there was my great nana, who passed suddenly when I was three
I wasn’t old enough to understand death yet so it didn’t affect me much, but I still remember her very clearly, like down to the dresses she wore on Christmas, and it kind of freaks my mom out to this day
then there was my great uncle Jack, he died when I was 8, and that was my first real experience with grief. I miss him…
by far the worst was my great grandma, about three years ago. I still haven’t fully recovered if I’m being honest, she was a best friend to me, every week we’d watch Tom and Jerry together and I know that’s such a dumb little thing but it’s one of my happiest memories-
and most recently, I lost an old friend. we hadn’t spoken in years, but it’s still messed me up quite a bit, if I had just known maybe I could’ve saved him…
…anyway I did not need to go into that much detail, could’ve just stuck with the first line but whatever now y’all know more about me and my past than you’ll ever need to
