(Oooahhx…. How about….. Inverse plot structure? Where… Get this… Instead of Skye and them coming to Tobias' world, Tobias goes to theirs or something?)
"I'm fine," Tobias answered, "but what happened doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me. With the car, I mean." Or I should just forget about it in the meantime….
(Hmmm…. this could work, and be really interesting. But are you prepped for almost all of my characters to be involved??)
"I wouldn't worry about it," said Skye reassuringly, wishing his mind magic would work on Tobias.
(Well, do all of your characters have to be involved?)
Tobias nodded. "I'm sure it'll slide soon enough…."
Megan suddenly came through the door, with a covered birdcage in her hand. "Hello, I'm back!"
As she walked to the kitchen, Tobias followed the cage with his eyes. Now what could that be??
(If they end up in my world most of them will end up involved because most of them are closely related and live as a family group on down time. Staying for a .long period of time guarantees meeting all of them at some point.)
Skye glanced over at the cage, instantly curious as he stood up.
(Well alright then….)
Megan smiled as Tobias wandered in the kitchen with her. "Wh– What's with the–"
"This?" She put her hand on the 'thing.' "Well… Steve and I have been thinking… And we thought it was time to have your first pet."
A– A pet??? He just watched.
"So lone and behold…." She took the cloth off swiftly, revealing a nice bird resting on a perch in the cage. "We got you a domestic canary!"
It was a nice little song bird type creature with grapefruit-red feathers and a small triangular beak.
But it was sleeping.
Skye came over and studied it for a moment, "Not like any bird I've ever seen" he commented.
Rashi rolled his eyes, "That's because you spend to much time with your head in the stars."
(Wait– heck I wanted it to be one of those speaking birds uuuhggghhhh whatever….)
Tobias had a good look at the bird and opened the cage door quietly.
The creature woke up peacefully, setting eyes on everyone around it.
"What's its name?" He asked as the tiny birb stepped on his finger.
"I thought I'd let you name him." Megan said nicely.
Skye smiled when he saw Tobias relax for once, visibly at ease.
Rashi watched the little bird carefully, trying to figure out what it was.
Tobias glanced back at Skye and Rashi before turning back. Those wings…. The feathers…. That color…. It almost looks like– "Firiko," He said suddenly.
Skye blinked, but upon taking a second look he laughed, "I guess those feathers do look like Firiko's!" he said laughing.
Megan smiled. "That's a perfect name for him!…." It's too bad he had to leave us so soon… But he needed to do what needed to be done, I suppose.
The birb – or now "Firiko" – had chirpped, walking its way up to Tobias' shoulder and chirping happily.
Tobias smiled, petting him on his head with a stroke of his finger.
Skye laughed,"im aure Firiko will be honored" he said Laughing.
Fyi I will be slow for awhile cause im heading out w my dad))

Megan sighed. "I'm sure he would be…" She handed the cage to him. "Why don't you put this up in your room on your dresser? He'll be very happy there…"
As Tobias took the cage upstairs, she turned to the two, leaning on the counter. "Steve and I were thinking about investigating Marceo's lab here in town to figure out how to get you guys back… I feel like time is running out."
Skye nodded, "probably a good idea." He said. "And as soon as we find anything I can head out and fetch Rio and Alzura."
"I really hope that you're not going to try to wapr down the their depth" said Rashi with concern.
Megan frowned. "They're still having trouble down there?" (Truthfully I have no idea if they are still down there….)
She shifted.
"They're fine" said skye "But Alzura literally can't be out of water for too long, or he'll die."
"So Rio's staying with him down in fhe depths of the ocean where any normal human could never reach them. I would've gone myslef but I can't reach the same depths as Rio." Explained Rashi. "Skye is suggesting that he warp to their location to bring them back as soon as we find a way home. That would entail him popping up underwater, at a depth he physically can't survive at because of water pressure."
Megan smiled sheepishly. "Well, alright then…. But I suppose that– well, when do you want to leave? I would right now, but now that I think about dinner…."
Tobias was up in his room, playing around with bird Firiko – playing hide-and-seek, peek-a-boo, all sorts of childish things Tobias otherwise would've never done.
"Right," said Rashi "we can head out after dinner then." He then turned to Skye, who was distracted by his own thoughts. "Skye?"
"Huh? Oh.yeah. we can head out then.." he turned to leave the room heading outside.
Megan stayed in the kitchen. "So… What are you thinking about having for dinner tonight?" She glanced at Rashi. "I mean…. We have some chicken and rice left over from the other night…"
"Anything's fine with me" said Rashi, "Honestly I wouldn't know what you have so it's up to you."
"Alright then…." Megan pulled out some stuff and put it on the stove. "I guess some spaghetti sounds nice tonight…" She put a pot on a burner and filled it with water.
Firiko rested back on Tobias' shoulder one last time before he fell asleep. He's so perfect…. He took him carefully off his shoulder, but he let out a frantic chirp.
Rashi nodded, moving out of her way, now twirling another mini-tornado. "Just curious but how did you run into Skye?"
"Oh – umm…" She had to think about it as she got stuff prepared. "I think – yeah – Tobias had gotten nearly run over by a car and they helped ward off the onlookers as I got him to safety. He was at school playing when the ball rolled into the street and he didn't look before just running out…." I still can't believe I allowed him to do that…
"Sounds about right" said Rashi, "To be honest I'm not all that familliar with Skye's lot, I only know them cause of my bro."
"At least you somewhat know each other and it isn't like an awkward stranger sort of thing…." She slid noodles into the pot and pulled another pan out to cook some sauce.
Tobias panicked a little and put Firiko back, which calmed him down back into his sleep. I guess he likes it there. He grinned, petting the small bird nicely.
"true" said Rashi, "To be honest I thought he was gonna attack me when I saw him."
"Thank goodness that didn't go down…." I've already had enough conflict around my house anyways…. She stirred everything for a little bit before letting it sit again.
Tobias came downstairs carefully and into the kitchen. "Look," He said softly, petting Firiko. "…He's sleeping on my shoulder!"
Rashi couldn't help smiling, "I think you're doing a good job as a pet owner then" he said.
"I tried to put him back in his cage, but he wouldn't let me…." Tobias said. "So… I guess I have to leave him be."
