Davin kept sleeping, curled under the blankets with a peaceful expression on his face.

Tohru laid awake for a little while longer, but eventually curled up into the couch and went back to sleep. He had very vague nightmares that he wouldn't be able to remember when he woke up. It was a little distressing nonetheless.
Davin woke up a few times, gasping and disoriented, mind haunted with hazy nightmares and old memories. After those, it always took him a while to get back to sleep, but he always managed it, curling into the blankets and going back to sleep.

Tohru, in the other room, did not hear the stirring of his roommate. He stayed mostly asleep through the rest of the night, although it wasn’t the most restful sleep.
Davin finally awoke in the morning, stretching and letting out a soft groan. His eyes fell on where Tohru should have been, and he frowned a little bit, getting up and walking out of the bedroom.

Tohru was still asleep on the couch, curled up with his knees tucked close to his chest. His face was buried in the couch cushions, and he had the blanket tucked around his body tightly. He was mostly quiet, save the occasional stirring and small huff or small cry.
Davin spotted the other male, and his eyebrows pulled together. He headed to the kitchen and started a pot of coffee, before coming back. "Tohru?" he asked in a soft voice. Was the other having a nightmare? Did he need help?
group
Tohru slowly stirred awake and turned to Davin.
"Mm? What is it?" he asked, his voice hoarse in the way it often was when he first woke up, "Oh yeah, I guess I left the bed. I just couldn't sleep, and I didn't want to bother you with my restlessness."
Davin nodded slightly. "Right. Are you alright? You were making noises and stuff…" he trailed off, knowing he probably sounded a little stupid for saying that.
group
"I think I was just dreaming," Tohru laughed, "Thanks for the concern, though."
He sat up, arching his back out against the couch arm.
"Did you sleep okay?"
"Right. And…I slept about as well as i ever do." he sat down, running a hand through his hair. Which is to say, like shit. His mind was too haunted by death and golden skies to ever sleep very well.
group
"Alright, well…"
Tohru rose from his spot and continued to stretch out his stiff muscles.
"I can make us breakfast, if you'd like," he offered.
"I've got some coffee going, but breakfast would be great. Thanks." Davin replied, stretching, before standing up again. "We also need to find jobs."
group
"Yeah, we'll get there," Tohru said, moving to the kitchen.
He grabbed one of the pans they had bought and went through the food, trying to settle on something to cook. He grabbed the carton of eggs from the fridge and opened it. They belonged to some bird he wasn't very familiar with, but he assumed they would do just as well as any other kind.
Tohru turned on the burner and started working with a few simple ingredients to make them a meal.
Davin started searching for jobs for the both of them, pinning ones that were decent possibilities. He knew he needed a job where he could hide his Kaythani heritage easily, which meant no physical or outdoor jobs, or jobs that required a lot of movement.
group
After a little bit, Tohru brought Davin a plate and sat nearby.
"Looking for work?" he asked.
He set the food next to his roommate.
"I'm thinking I won't be picky. I don't… really care what kind of work I have to do."
Davin nodded. "Yeah. And…alright, but I'll still going to find you a halfway decent job." he replied. He set the device aside and took a bite of food, thinking.
group
"Half-decent," Tohru echoed, "That's all I'd ask for, though. Any luck on your end?"
Tohru took a few bites of his food and waited for an answer.
"Yeah. And…not really. What I can do is severely limited by…this." he touched one of his horns, his tail flicking slightly as he took a bite of food.
group
"Yeah, I suppose it is," Tohru said with a frown, "What kind of work have you done before that worked for hiding your identity?"
"Most indoor things are fine." He replied. "Anything where I don't need to take off the cloak." He shrugged his shoulders a little bit.
group
"Oh, well… are there any openings anywhere in that shop district we visited yesterday?" Tohru suggested.
He was trying to be helpful, but was afraid he was just repeating things Davin had already come up with.
Davin blinked. "Oh. I hadn't thought of that." He replied with a smile, and clicked to see if there was. "Thanks."
group
Tohru relaxed a bit.
"Yeah, no problem," he replied, smiling back.
He moved to pull out his own device, and also started looking for work, nothing in particular in mind. It was a little frustrating, since he had usually just made a living before collecting bounties.
Davin kept searching through the jobs, needing to find one that he could keep wearing the cloak at. He ate while he looked.
group
Tohru settled over a section that had some jobs that looked interesting, but he was still unsure where to even start. He ended up sitting there and finishing breakfast instead of continuing his search.
Davin bookmarked a few more jobs. "Tohru." He said softly. "I need your contact information so I can send you some stuff." He looked over at the other male.
group
"Oh, yeah. Of course," Tohru said.
He walked over and tilted his device towards Davin so he could input his information.
"We should've done that to begin with."
Davin chuckled softly, putting his information in. "We should have. But now if you'll just message me, I'll have the information I need." he replied, shooting Tohru a quick smile.
group
"Yeah, of course," Tohru replied.
Internally, he was melting a little at the sight of the other's smile. Was he this way with everyone? Tohru pushed aside the thought.
He probably is. You're just taking things wrong. That's wishful thinking…
