"I-I mean, if I demanded that you stay, technically I'm in a position where they wouldn't really be able to deny the request."
He nodded. "Yeah. But…I don't know."
"Um… unless you don't want to stay, that is… I don't want to force you to do anything…"
"No, I'd…I'd rather stay…" He replied softly.
Lloyd nodded a bit. "Alright… I'll probably talk with my father another day. I can't walk and I don't want him to have to come in here."
Ellis nodded. "Alright." He replied with a little smile.
Lloyd pulled Nathaniel a bit closer to himself. "This is just a whole mess…"
Ellis nodded again. "Yeah. I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault. It's Anton's."
"Still. I…" He shrugged.
"Still what? You haven't done anything wrong."
"Yeah, alright. Alright."
"I rather enjoy your company, actually."
"Me too. I mean– I enjoy yours too."
Lloyd smiled softly, a light flush rising to his cheeks. "You'll have to take over Lio's training while I'm stuck here."
Ellis blinked. "Oh! I forgot about that. Of course I will."
"I left the treats on my dresser, so you shouldn't have to worry about that…"
"Alright!" he smiled.
Lloyd smiled softly. "I like to see you excited about things, El."
Ellis blushed a little, ducking his head and smiling.
"You always seem so miserable around Anton. I want you to be happy, Ellis. You deserve it."
Ellis shrugged a little, picking at a loose thread on his sleeve. "I-I…"
"Don't argue with me, Ellis. You work hard, you're a great guy, and you deserve to be happy."
Ellis shrugged his shoulders.
Lloyd sighed softly. "You don't believe me, do you?"
He shook his head a little. "Sorry…"
Lloyd smiled weakly. "That's alright. I'll make you believe me somehow."

"God, my throat still hurts so bad…" Lloyd sighed, massaging his sore throat.
