"I don't know."

Lloyd hummed softly, thinking. "Maybe because I was at war? I guess that helps you be at peace with the idea you might die…"

"Maybe so, i don't know."

"Hmm… I'm not sure how to combat this."

"Me either. Sorry."

Lloyd sighed. "I'm not supposed to be as okay with death as I am. I almost want to sacrifice myself for the people. Is that strange?"

"Yeah, it is." Ellis replied. "It is."

"Hmm…" Lloyd was quiet for a bit. "Is that bad?"

Ellis let out a faint breath. "Yeah. I think so."

"Oh…" Lloyd fidgeted a bit. "What am I supposed to do about that?"

Ellis shrugged. "See a therapist?"

"I'm not sure if we have those here…" Lloyd hummed thoughtfully. "I know Nathaniel saw one when he was younger, but I don't know if it was in the castle. He didn't like talking about it."

Ellis nodded a little bit. "Right. I've…never been to one, so…"

"Maybe Nathaniel would be more willing to talk about it now… I wouldn't want to bother him, though."

He nodded again. "You can always ask. No harm in that."

Lloyd nodded a bit. "I hope he's not still sensitive about it… I don't think he would be?"

"I have no idea."

Lloyd sighed. "Is there something wrong with me?"

Ellis shook his head. "No. There's nothing wrong with you, Lloyd."

"Well, there has to be if you think I need to see a therapist, right? Clearly I'm doing something wrong."

"Lloyd…I just…I odn't know, okay?"

Lloyd sighed. "I feel okay… I don't think there's anything too seriously wrong with me."

Ellis sighed softly. "Yeah. I don't know."

"But there probably is… I mean, I probably should have talked to someone after war…"

Ellis shrugged. "Alright. Just…keep in mind that therapy might be good."

Lloyd nodded and sighed. "Alright, I… I'll look into it…"

Ellis nodded. "Alright. That's all I ask."

Lloyd looked up as Nathaniel came back in with a doctor in tow. After asking Lloyd a few general questions about his pain level and Nathaniel coercing Lloyd into telling the truth about it, the doctor upped the pain meds.

Ellis was silent, letting Lloyd talk.

Eventually, the doctor left the three boys alone and Lloyd sighed. Soon, the extra meds kicked in and Lloyd relaxed substantially.
