He blinked, having not thought about that yet, “…Elijah.” He decided. It was close enough to Eros, but not close enough for her to suspect anything.
Greek Mythology romance
"Elijah…" she repeated softly, liking the name "well, nice to meet you. I'm sorry about this whole marrage thing, you don't seem like the type of being to completly agree to marrying a stranger. no offense."
“No, it’s fine.” He forced himself to relax into the chair, “I should apologize too, you don’t deserve this.”
She shrugged "maybe I do deserve it. Maybe I don't. It doesn't matter. I'm still here." She glanced up in his general direction "so what are you like? What do you like to do?" She asked
“Um…” He determined that she would probably know about as much as Elijah as she knew about Shiloh, so he decided to be truthful, “I like little wood carvings..um, music. A lot of music,” he smiled, “A little dancing even.”
"so am I promised a dance at the wedding?" She asked with a small smile, "do you wood carve yourself or do you just like it?"
His lips curled into a smile at her first question, “Maybe…and as for wood carving, I like making them.”
"maybe? That's not a yes." She teased. "As long as you don't walk out on me before the evening ends." She leaned back in the couch and sighed
“I will never leave you. I promise you that.” His said in the sincerest tone he could muster, leanring forward towards her.
She blinked "thank you…" She whispered "uhm, is there a place I can change for the wedding?"
“Anywhere.” He answered, “I can leave whichever room you choose.” He stood up out of the chair.
She nodded "is there a bathroom by any chance?" She asked, standing as well and glancing around the room
“Actually, I have an unused dressing room beside my bedroom.” He cautiously reached out to touch her arm, “I can take you there.” His hands were surprisingly soft for a half-beast.
Kendalla jumped at being touched but nodded "that'll work too." She glanced around towards the door. "Give me a minute." She headed outside and picked some of the flowers from the garden outside. Once she had a decent amount, she headed back inside "ok, lead the way."
He took her hand and began making his way up the staircase, slowly for her, “It’s dark…you might trip.”
"I'm used to the dark, dad's home is usually this dark." She said with a nostalgic smile. "Is it ok if I turn on the lights to get dressed?"
“When I leave the room, you can.” He allowed, opening up the door for her, “This is it, love.”
She nodded and glanced around the dark room "thank you." She said before walking in
“You’re welcome.” He closed the door behind her, and dropped his guise. He exhaled a breath and walked over to his room. He shed his cloak, and took a seat on his bed. She was here, this was it. His plan was going perfectly, so why wasn’t he rejoicing?
Kendalla sighed and turned the lights on. A mirror lined the far wall along with shelves. Kendall's sighed and slipped off her current dress. She untied her hair and pulled on one of her more fancier dresses. She then took the flowers and started to lace them in with the folds of the dress and her hair. She took some vines and lace and make a makeshift mask, going along with the theme of her husband to be's concealed identity. Two can play the game. She pulled the mask on, only concealing her eyes and turned the lights off "ready." She called, opening the door
Shiloh looked up, standing up off of his bed “Ah, Okay. I’ll be out in a moment.” He gazed out his bedroom door, having grown used to the darkness he could see the outlines of everything in his home, along with the fact it was his house and from muscle memory he could stroll about in total darkness.
Kendalla headed out of the room and down the flight of stairs to the living room, holding on to the railing.like her life depended on it. She found the couch and sat down, wishing her parents were there
Shiloh went to his wardrobe to pick out a nicer outfit than a depressing cloak, but would also hopefully disguise his body shape. He ultimately decided on a white cape that draped across both of his shoulders and fastened with a gold button in front of his left shoulder. It also conveniently had a hood. Now he just needed a mask..
She sighed and headed out, needing the comfort of the garden. She jumped when she felt a light tap on her shoulder "mom?! Dad! Jeez you scared me! What are you doing here?!" She stood and hugged them both.
"We're taking you away from here." Hades said, glancing at his daughter
Kendalla could still feel the waves of anger coming off her father "dad I'm not leaving."
"And why not?" Her mother asked
"Cuz, if I do we'll be in more trouble than what it's worth." She reasoned
"Try me…" Hades growled.
"Dad, I don't want anyone getting hurt on my account."
"And what about you? Hm?"
"He hasn't hurt me, actually quite the opposite. He's been really nice. Oh, before I forget, you can't see him, you'll have to keep you're head down during the ceremony." She said
"Kendalla, you can't be serious,"
"I am. I've done something to upset Aphrodite and now I have to pay the consequences."
Hades gently stroked her cheek "we'll get you out." He promised
"No, you.won't"
“Elijah” peered out of the front door with a mask over his eyes and a cloth over his mouth and nose. He hoped it would be enough, but wasn’t so sure so he stayed in the shadows “Are they here for the wedding?”
Hades sighed in defeat "I swear, he does Any harm to you in any way…"
"I'll be sure to find you." Kendalla finished, stroking her dad's cheek "I promise."
(Time skip to the wedding?)
(Yee)
Later in the night—well, very early morning as the sun just started the peek above the horizon, Elijah (Shiloh) waited for his bride. He still had his cloak and hood on, permanently looking down to the ground to obscure his face.
"you do know it's bad luck to see you're bride before the wedding right?" Kendalla asked from the top of the staircase landing.
“Yeah, well, this whole situation is a little unconventional.” He smiled, “And besides, I won’t really see you until…after the wedding anyway. I’m keeping my head down until then.”
"I'm fairly certain I'm shorter than you, I think that forces you to look at me one way or another." She laughed lightly "my dad's not happy about this." She sighed and slowly made her way down the stairs
