Lucien exhaled softly. "Mm. Because I barely know you, you're magic, you're male…" He shrugged. "List goes on and on." He chuckled softly. "I have a lot of rules governing my life, though, so at this point…" He shrugged carelessly. "Doesn't matter."
It's not in the Cards (O/O)
Aki chuckles. "The only rules I have known are from my master and from magic." he says quietly. "As for being with a man, my master has explained to me that love is not a choice. If you love someone, even if the world tells you it is wrong, you should trust your gut feeling." He says softly. He grins at the other. "But, I have to admit. I never saw myself sharing a tub with the prince."
Lucien nodded, then smiled back. "And I never saw myself sharing a tub with…anyone, to be honest." He chuckled softly. "Reason I'm not supposed to be with another guy is because I have to marry a woman so that there's an heir to carry on the line." He shrugged a little.
Aki listened intently, his electric blue eyes shining with curiosity. "But… You could marry a man, and adopt an heir…" He says softly. "In town, there are orphanages…. Many children do not have families…. I should know." he says softly, washing out his hair. The orphanage is where his master found him. It was a dreary place. Cold and cruel, the children miserable. "Why can you not do that instead?"
Lucien shook his head. "Doesn't work like that. Not for my family. The child has to be related by blood. If I had…If René was still alive, it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but…" He shrugged. René had been his younger brother, who had died two years ago at eight years old. "I would do that, if I was allowed. But I'm not." He caught what Aki was hinting at, that the other male himself had been from an orphanage, and wasn't sure what to say.
Aki nods. His eyes became soft. He had heard his master arguing with one of the doctors about bringing someone dead was impossible. It was something that would take the worst card in the arcana. He sighed softly as he sunk into the bubbles.
Lucien sighed softly. "But hey…I'm allowed to have as many male consorts as I like. Just not…you know, a husband." He shrugged, grabbing the shampoo bottle and submerging his head again for a moment.
"Male… Consorts?" He asks quietly a small brow raising. But that wasn't love. He didn't argue against it though, letting it drop as he played with his hair. He seeped back into the bubbles.
Lucien surfaced again. "Yes. That's just how it is." He shrugged. "I may have a woman on my throne and a man in my bed, but not the other way around. Not that I want a woman in my bed." He made a face.
Aki tilts his head. "So you do not like women romantically…?" He asks curiously. His eyes were soft as he listened. He taps his lips. "I remember one time my master changed into a woman. He was practicing an illusion charm of sort."
Lucien thought for a moment. "Uhm…nope." he replied with a shrug. "Not really." He raised his eyebrows. "That's…mildly terrifying." he chuckled softly.
Aki laughed softly. "He was very pretty as a lady. I've been practicing myself but I always mess up. Almost managed to make these blasted ears and tail disappeared." he looked down and sighed softly.
Lucien nodded. He smiled slightly. "I think the ears and tail are cute." he offered. He poured out shampoo onto his hand, working it into his hair, leaving sudsy soap all through the brown locks.
Aki looks up when the other said his ears and tail were cute. He turned a soft red at that. "I never liked them… People always made fun of them…" he mutters softly. He smiled weakly. "I'm glad someone likes them though"
Lucien shook his head a little. "Hm. Well, I don't see why people made fun of them." he dunked his head again, scrubbing off the shampoo from his hair, then surfaced.
He thought about that for a moment. To be completely honest, he wasn't sure why people made fun of his ears or tail. He washes his ears carefully, and then moved to his tail.
Lucien finished washing his hair, and leaned back on the edge of the tub again, letting out a soft sigh.
Aki was satisfied as he just relaxed in the warm water. He had to admit this was very nice. He didn't want to break the silence with something awkward though.
Lucien looked around the room for a minute. I… maybe shouldn't have blurted out all that about liking other guys and all the rules and stuff…I've probably weirded him out… He thought.
Aki hummed happily to himself. It was a mellow tune, gentle and bright. He looked happy as he played with the suds. "In someways I can understand…" he says after a moment. "I've always had more of an appeal to men then women. But rules are rules I suppose…"
Lucien looked up. "Hm? Oh. Yeah. I learned a long time ago that no matter my personal feelings abiut it…at least I can have…an affair, I guess would be the correct term. So long as my wife has children, they don't care if i have men on the side."
Aki nods. He himself was an affair, as the women in the orphanage had pounded into his sweet head. "Personal feelings are important though… Can't you make your own choices when you are king?" He asks softly. "Or… if you cannot, just simply run away? That's what I usually did until my master found me."
Lucien gave a wry smile. "No. There have to be blood heirs to carry on the line, and me and my father are the last of our family. My father will not remarry after my mother's death, or he would have already. So it is up to me." He shrugged. "And as for running away…I won't do that. I can't." He sighed.
Aki's eyes were soft. He wished he could help Lucien in some way. But he was just a mere apprentice. He looked down and fiddled with his fingers, before using his magic to gently warm the water since it was starting to cool down.
Lucien sighed softly. "I'm sorry, that was a depressing chain of conversation." He said, raking a hand through his wet hair.
"Ah- Not the worst I've heard." he replies with a soft smile. He sighed softly and look around and sighed before shaking his head. "Trust me." He chuckles.
He blinked, and nodded. "Oh. Alright." He replied slowly. He stretched, sitting up. "We should… probably get out sooner or later. There are other things that need to get done."
"That's true…" He mutters softly before sighing quietly and shook his head before sighing and looking down. He gets out of the tub before grabbing a towel and exiting.
Lucien waited a moment, not looking as Aki got out of the tub, then did the same, wrapping a towel around himself, then putting up his hair in a smaller towel. It looked weird, he knew, but he didn't really care.
Aki hummed faintly to himself as he got dressed, a happy little sigh leaving his lips as he does so. He searched around for his shirt, confused on where it could have dropped.
