(Sorry, out at dinner)
"Then don't cheat me and I won't have to wring her neck." Her eyes pleaded with him to save her.
๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ช๐ฝ๐ฎ ๐ก๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ช๐ฌ๐ด๐ผ!
(Oh, donโt worry. I was having a nice talk with my parents, soโฆ)
โI. Wonโt,โ Sterling practically spat, pulling his phone out and dialing the number. โIโll see you when I get my girlfriend back.โ
"Oh no, you're staying right here. You move and I won't hesitate." His hands clamped around her throat and fear flooded her body.
Sterling quirked an eyebrow. โOh, youโre staying here? I thoughtโฆ Well, never mind.โ
(Would you mind being the police?)
(Not at all! I have likeโฆone police character so he'll be fun to drag out of the closet.)
"Don't test me boy." He clamped tighter and she started to choke.
(Lol. Cool! I just donโt like talking to myself. ๐)
โTest you? I was honestly curious,โ Sterling said, raising his hands in defense, truly not mocking him. โI justโโ he was cut off by a voice coming over the phone, from the police station.
"Officer Collins, how can I help you?"
Niall slowly released her and she crumbled into a heap on the ground.
โHello, Officer Collins. I have a man here who was just assaulting a young woman,โ Sterling replied, glaring daggers at the other man.
"Right, I'll send someone out to see if they can fix it. Can I have a name and address?"
Sterling rattled off the information. โThank you, sir.โ
Not 10 minutes later, a police car pulled up and a detective that you should recognize stepped out. "Detective Lerman, what seems to be the issue?" (Had to do the name change. She is married now.)
(LOL!!! Yes! Belle! XD Gosh, when/if Darren sees thatโฆ)
Sterling nodded and stuck his hand out to shake hers in greeting. โThank you for coming up here, Detective. This manโโ he nodded toward Niall. โโwas physically assisting this young woman.โ
She shook it quickly. "I recognize you. Both of you. You're the Ainsley boy and you're the murderer I keep seeing around town." "Good to see you again, Detective." He winked at her and she rolled her eyes. "I'm married now, dumbass." He blinked in surprise and she apprehended him. "We've been looking for this one for months. Thanks for catching him for us." She shoved him into the car and sped off. Cass coughed roughly, a small amount of blood flying out her mouth.
Sterling hurried to Cassandra as soon as they drove off. โAre you okay? Cass, do you need to see the nurse?โ he asked worriedly, using a gentle hand to trace the bruises forming on her neck.
She couldn't answer, she was coughing too hard, blood spurting out in bigger amounts.
โNurse, then. Got it,โ Sterling muttered under his breath as he quickly but carefully scooped her up in his arms and hurried to the medical cabin.
Laura jumped when the door opened. "Oh god, what happened this time?" Her eyes landed on the bruises on her neck. "What, did due get strangled or something?"
โYes, actually,โ Sterling clipped. โJust help her, please.โ
"Okay, I'll try." She took her and gently laid her on her side, head elevated so she wouldn't drown in the blood pooling in her throat. "I actually have to go but just keep her like that, she should be alright." She grabbed her bag and left, shutting the door behind her.
Sterling stared at the door. "Are you kidding me? She was literally choked half to death, and you just leave her? Unbelievable!"
"Don't yell at her, love. She only leaves when she has an emergency." Her voice was weak and thin but at least it was there.
"You are an emergency. What could be more important than this?" Sterling questioned, sitting beside her.
"Death. That's an emergency. Or near death."
"Like you. Right here, right now," Sterling muttered.
"Relax. She's had some really important family things going on." She closed her eyes, was the room supposed to be spinning?
Sterling hummed, chewing on his lip as he looked down at her. โIโm sure sheโll be back soon,โ he muttered, hoping it was true.
"That's doubtful." She mumbled. She felt flushed and knew she probably looked like it too.
โWell, what are we supposed to do? Just sit here and let you bleed to death?โ Sterling grumbled.
"It'll stop eventually." At least, that's what she hoped. "And if it doesn't, call an ambulance."
