Mermaid/romance rp thing one on one

Grayson suddenly realized that he was breathing. In and out, in the water.
(Heehe I have a plot twist)

Brenna clung to Moxiey, staring over her shoulder at Grayson. "Y-You're… breathing?"

"Looks like it.." Grayson said nervously, not knowing what the hell was going on.

"How?" Brenna asked in a sigh.

"I..I don't know. Did you do anything?" Grayson asked Moxiey, glancing over at her.

Moxiey shook her head quickly. "No. At least, I don't think I did…" She looked at her hands, suddenly afraid of them.

"I'm sure it's just…something with this cave maybe.." He suggested, peering around curiously.

Moxiey hugged Brenna tightly. "What happened?"
"Diara must've put a charm over the cavern or something. I don't really know," Brenna answered, wincing every so often.

"Do you know where she is?" Grayson asked her, shifting his eyes to Brenna.

Brenna sadly shook her head.

Grayson sighed and looked around. "Stay alert. She could be anywhere."

Brenna flinched when something on the other end of the cavern fell. "What was that?" she whimpered.

"I don't know. I'll go see." He said quietly, swimming slowly toward the noise.

"Grayson, wait!" Moxiey called softly. "Don't!"

"It's okay. I'll be fine." He replied, still swimming forward.

Moxiey held onto Brenna tightly. "Will he be fine?" She felt Brenna nodding.

Grayson glanced back at them before swimming forward into the dark cave.

Moxiey held her breath anxiously. Brenna huddled close to her for protection. It's us against the world now, Moxiey thought grimly.

(wait what was the noise?)

Grayson frowned down at the ground. "It's okay Moxiey, it was just a rock." He called back.

Moxiey looked at Brenna, who looked as confused as Moxiey felt! "A… rock?" Moxiey replied.

"Yeah..just a rock." He chuckled softly, picking it up.

Moxiey brought Brenna over to look at it. The rock was smooth and shiny. Moxiey frowned. It looked familiar…?

"What's wrong? It's just a rock.." He said, a little confused.

"I think I've seen this before. I can't remember where, though…"

Grayson gave the rock to her and glanced up to where it had fallen. “Have you been in here before?” He asked.

"No… Not that I remember." Something fuzzy was tugging in the back of her mind. A memory.

“That’s strange…” Grayson hummed.

"Yeah," Moxiey agreed. "How did this even get here?"
