Gabriel came back handed her the mask and fan "these should go with the dress. I didn't get enough time she if they did."

She fixed the mask and unfurled her fan. "It's beautiful, Gabriel," she whispered.

He smiled softly "you make it look besutiful, love." He said, offering her his arm

She was glad her mask covered her blush as she took his arm with a smile.

He opened the door for her to the car and guided her in

Nathalie sat down with a smile. "Thank you."

He nodded and got in the driver's seat "this is going to be interesting. He said as they drive off the The Circus of the Night.

She nodded quietly in agreement. "Do you know how far it is?"

He thought for a moment "a few miles from the outskirts of the city." He said

She nodded. A decent ride. Enough to have a long conversation.

"something's on your mind I'm guessing. You've been quiet for a bit." He noticed, having driven for a while now and not hearing a word from her

"No, not much," she lied smoothly. Really, she was thinking about Duusu and her miraculous.

He sighed softly, knowing she was hiding something " Gabriel glanced out the window

She glanced at him. "You don't believe me."

"not necessarily. But I won't press any further if you don't want to share." He said, glancing at her

"I was wondering what would be powerful enough to damage a miraculous," she revealed quietly.

He nodded and faced fowards, his grip tightening on the steering wheel "why do you want to know of something like that?" He asked quietly

"I think you know why, Gabriel," she replied, looking out the window

He sighed softly "only another miraculous can destroy another miraculous." He said simply

She looked over at him quickly, then forward again. She frowned in thought. Her mind was slowly putting the pieces together. "Gabriel, do you mean…" The words died on her lips.

He nodded "It's quite possible, yes." he muttered, hating how this kept happening to those he loved so dearly, first his wife then Nathalie. what next? his son?

(I'm not sure. It's a fan-theory, tho.)

She breathed in slowly and turned her head to look out the window. She reached up and gently touched the brooch she'd pinned to her dress before they left. It felt cool against her fingertips.

He glanced over at Nathalie before facing fowards and driving in silence for a few miles, not wanting to upset her more than what she already was

Nathalie spent the rest of the ride deep in thought. She coughed occasionally – maybe once or twice the whole trip – but was silent otherwise. She kept reaching up to touch her miraculous.

(I have seen some spoilers so I know what happens but I haven't seen the actual episode and I'm a bit behind. I think I'm around Gamer 2.0)

"should we turn around?" He asked softly, worrying that he had upset her and ruined the night "there's always next year."
