"What!? No, you didn't do anything! I just….."
He looked at his watch on his wrist, then at her. "I'm alright. It's fine" he says with a sigh. Turning to look up at the sky, a glimmer of purple and blue shining off of his eyes. He pursed his lips into a fine line before looking at her again.
"I'm sorry. I've been acting weird. I don't know what I've been doing."
He says looking down at his hands as his thumbs fiddled with each other.
"I'm just glad I didn't do anything wrong." Rye couldn't smile though, he still seemed a bit off, and it felt weird. They have always told each other everything but she felt he was hiding something. "It's getting late. Will you walk me home?" Rye hated the dark. She didn't know why, it was just some weird fear that showed up out of nowhere. She stood, it was a nice night, but if she didn't get home her parents would worry.

He took a breath and stood up, looking up at the sky, then down back at her as his expression softened. He had his chance to kiss her and he didn't. He blew it. But it wasn't like she would kiss him back or anything. She liked Lance…well he just assumed that. Levi had no proof of it
"Yeah of course," he says with a sweet smile.
It was pretty quiet on the way home. Rye didn't have much to say. She fidgeted with her necklace, it felt as if Levi was with her, even if he wasn't. That's how it was when she was with Lance at least. She was going to wear it forever. "Thank you for a good night." Rye finally spoke. The silence was killing her, and she missed his voice. The street lamps light the walkway which made her feel a little better, but having Levi there was the best comfort she could have asked for.

He laughed a little, "you're making it sound like-nevermind." He says to her as he grabs her hand with his as they walk side by side. The fresh night air was almost as amazing to Levi as the morning air. But to him, nothing but Rye could compare to the morning air. Well…other than strawberry cheesecake. But he wasn't thinking about strawberry cheesecake right now. Not was he thinking about the air or nature. Or the fact that Rye had jumped in a dirty lake, and never washed her hands, but the fact that he was still holding it.
Rye saw her porch light, and also Ty sitting on the bench. She knew it was past curfew, but she didn't think anyone would care. When they got close enough, Ty looked up. His usual smile not on his face. Rye tightened her grip on Levi's hand. There have only been a handful of times that Ty had looked like this. "Where have you been?" He was leaned forward with his hands together. Ty looked at Levi then back at Rye. He liked Levi, he liked him a lot more than most the guys around Rye, but this was still unacceptable. "I was just out. What does it matter, I'm almost 18, are you guys going to shelter me forever." Rye rarely got mad, but this was something she always hated. Ever since they found out about the bullying, they were more protective. "Get inside." As he stood, Rye shrunk. Slowly sheet go of Levi's hand and gave him a hug before she went inside. "Why were you guys out so late?"

He hugged Rye tightly before letting her go, letting her hand slip out of his as she walked away from him.
"My apologies. We didn't keep track of time" Levi says to her brother as he steps back a little, running his fingers through his hair as he did.

Ty sighed and loosened up. "I'm sorry, it's just we worry. I know with you she's safe though. Just try to being her home on time." Ty laid his hand on Levi shoulder to tell him it was fine. "She feels safe around you so I'm sure she just didn't want to come home." He smiled and backed away. "We'll see you in the morning, that is if you are going to pick her up and take her to school?" Ty didn't think Levi wouldn't, because he has always done so.

"Of course i would. Just like always" Levi says with a polite smile. He was a little distracted by what he had been feeling for the past hour. Mostly about Rye and how if he had any chance with her, he absolutely blew it then and there.
"So, did you confess?" Ty smirked. He asked this everytime he saw Levi with the hope he actually would. Ty could also tell there was something Rye felt for Levi, but she was conflicted. What the boys didn't know is that Rye was watched from her bedroom window, she couldn't hear it, but she really wanted too. "You should really just tell her."

"No….its unnecessarily unreasonable." He says straightening his collar of his shirt, forgetting the Rye still had his jacket. Though he didn't care. In fact, she could keep it.
"Though…. I do have a question."
He says looking to the side then back at Ty.
"If I were to kiss her….i mean! With your permission of course! Though I would never without your permission,- do I have permission? Of course, I would get permission from her too! It's not like I would ever- okay you know what….just forget I asked. Sorry about that. Just….ignore that"
He stuttered around almost every sentence he said to him with his face visibly beet red as the street lamp shown on them.
Ty laughed. "I think it will work better is if you kiss her and not ask. It's hard to explain, but yes, I give you permission. I could…. maybe possibly bring her back down if you want." He smirked knowing Levi wouldn't want that, but he loved messing with him. "Honestly I don't think I would allow any other guy to have her than you, unless he is amazing, but I doubt it." Rye slightly opened her window to see if she could hear them. What are they talking about?

"Oh……hmm noted," he says literally taking out a notebook and jotting it down. He took notes on unnecessary things all the time. Though he never thought of them as unnecessary.
"Wait….please don't do that…… I missed the opportunity tonight." He says with a disappointed sigh.
"But I appreciate that. I wouldn't want any other guy to kiss her either" he lets out a nervous little laugh with a smile. He did like Ty more than most people. And that was saying a TON if it was coming from Levi.
"Wait for a second…..why wouldn't I ask her to kiss her? What if she didn't want me to? Wouldn't that just be polite?" He asks a tad confused as he finally computed in his brain what he had said before after he wrote it all down.
"I feel if you ask her she will always deny, because she will always convince herself she doesn't have feelings for you. If you do it without permission, she will think about it, and you more. Not seeing you as a little brother or just a friend. I think she's a bit scared." Ty smiled. Honestly he wanted them together, but Rye had been talking about this new friend of her's, Lance… "Anyway, I better get inside. The next chance you get just do it." With that Ty walked inside.

"Okay….. I will," he says taking a deep breath. He always forgot that she thought of him as a brother or a friend. But Ty knew best according to Levi whenever it came to Rye. So he was going to try.
"Okay see ya" Levi steps back with a little smile that he just couldn't keep in.

The next morning, Rye's alarm went off at 7:00 again running late. She jumped out of bed and got dressed quickly. She was excited to see Levi, but since last night it felt a bit weird as well. With no breakfast she ran out the door and around the corner.

Levi hadnt slept last night. He was too busy doing homework. Homework as in writing down notes, seeing which way would be the best possible way to win Ryes heart. He looked up many ways to win a girls heart. None of them seemed like anything he would do. So he made up his own. Though he eventually fell asleep on his desk.
He sat up from his desk, though immediately falling out of his chair and onto the floor face first.
After a little bit of panicking, debating whether he should eat breakfast or not, getting dressed after ironing his clothes, and now he was walking to school slowly imagining scenarios with Rye. Hoping he wouldnt mess anything up.

When Tye turned the corner she didn't see Levi, which she thought was strange. He was always here before her. Maybe he left without me. Sighing Rye made her way down the street without Levi. Her two long braids swing side to side as she walked. She didn't like walking by herself, she felt like an easy target. Please ignore me. She kept her head down and walked fast.

As he was walking, he soon spotted Rye, and he couldn't help but smile, though he didn't resist the little butterflies in his stomach that flew about when he saw her. "Uh, hey Rye!" He says catching up to her with a smile.

Rye froze at the sudden voice, it startled her a bit. Realizing it was Levi she turned with a smile. "Where were you?" It was rare for her to be the first one at their meet up spot. "It's weird for you to be up after me." Rye walked next to him with her arm linked with his, like she did every morning.

"Oh…uh, I accidentally slept in. Yeah I know, weird right?" He says with a little laugh. For some reason, he was a ton more nervous with her than how he usually was. Was it because of last night? What her brother and he had talked about? No, he wouldn't let something like that bother him so much. Would he?
"That's so unlike you." Rye raised an eyebrow curiously. He must have studied later than usual. "Well, It doesn't matter, we'll still be on time." She smiled and saw the school in the distance. She already wanted this day to be over. She hated school. But with Levi around it wasn't too bad. It sucked he wasn't in her class though.

"Unfortunately…" He says with a sigh, tilting his head back and looking up to the soy, then closing his eyes as he let the breeze blow through his hair and run along his face making even his eyelashes a bit chilly, feeling them below his eye as they brushed against his cheek a little.
"Well let's get going then" he looks back down at her with a smile.
"It's getting colder." Rye wasn't a fan of super cold or hot weather, but she'd rather it be cold. The heat drained her, and made her feel sick. When the school was in sight, Rye frowned a little, but quickly turned her attitude around. "I guess I'll see you later." She was sad they didn't have the same classes.

"Um, yeah" he says with a sigh. He wasn't the happiest to be apart from her either. Though it was fine. They hung out all the time after school, so he tried to shrug it off. Plus, he had all of his studying and schoolwork to focus on. He wasn't wasn't going to let some girl distract him.
Nope, he totally was.
Rye turned around and smiled. She have Levi a small wave before continuing to walk. Pulling her pack up more she stood tall and walked with confidence. Her first class was history, which was always boring, but she somehow always had a good grade in it. Although today she was a bit distracted today. Last nights events kept coming to mind. Levi was acting a bit differently and she wasn't sure why. What threw her off more was the strange feelings she felt.

Levi walked to class with a small smile, unusually enough. His posture was tall and straight as he walked to class, thinking of only her.
