Rykah and Will(because I can't think of a better title)

"Unless you know how to fix a radio theres no point" said rykah stubbornly.

Will turned to the radio. “It’s a normal radio, right?”

"Yeah"

Will turned the radio over to find the battery compartment, opening it up. He set to work messing around with the radio, occasionally hearing noises and getting excited. Finally, he handed it to Rykah and said, “Now try.”

Rykah held the old radio listening to some of the chatter between a couple of people who were joking about one of their mates before someone told them to stop goofing around. Finally rykah took a deep breath pressing a button on the side. "This is the last survivor of team 1 oh 3 beta, can anybody read me? Over." He said his voice wavering with doubt.

Will prayed that it worked, watching Rykah.

Rykah was about to say that it didnt work when someone on the other side began to speak. "Who was that?!" Said a new voice "who ever said that is going to regret it you know what happened to that flight team!"
Rykah looked up in alarm as several people responded saying it wasnt them. Pressing the button on the radio he spoke once more " I repeat this is the last survivor of team 1 oh 3 beta. This is not a joke. I am Rykah of the team 1 oh 3 beta."

Will smiled, although he wasn’t totally sure why. The people on the other end sounded hostile.

The radio crackled to life again, "What the, Ok whoever's playing this joke is gonna regret it!" said the guy on the radio,
Rykah pressed the button on the radio again, "This is not a joke! This is the last member of flight team 1 oh 3 beta. My flight team was knocked out of the sky by a flair, I was the only survivor. I have been stuck on one of the rios Islands since the Migration, My radio was broken which is why I was never able to make contact!"

Will nervously got up and paced around.

The radio crackled some more, "Who are you?!"
Rykah pressed the button to answer, "I already told you!"

He sighed, "I don't think they'll believe me," he said to will sadly, "Its been too long"

“Just keep trying.” Will said, putting his hand on his friend’s shoulder.

Rykah nodded just as the radio crackled to life once more,
"This is officer Barron, I was told there was trouble on the radios"
"Yeah somebody is on the line claiming to be from the lost flight team 1 oh 3 beta"
"What?!"
"They're claiming to be that kid Rykah, who was with the team when we lost them,"
"I'll have their hide!"
Rykah's face lit up when he heard the name of the officer on the radio, "Uncle Barron?" he said into the radio, "Uncle Barron it really is me, I don't know how to prove it but it really is me!"

Uncle? Will mouthed to himself.

"wait a minute, Rykah?" the radio crackled, "Alright If it's really you then what was your father's name?"
"My dad's name was Luminero!" said Rykah excitedly,
"Where the heck have you been kid?!"
"I've been stuck on Myras Island since the flight team went down, I was the only one to make it out, and the other Islands are to far for me to fly to because of the fumes caused by that stupid goop!" said Rykah happy to finally be heard,
"At least you're ok, Listen I'm going to call a council now to see if we can get you out of there alright?"
"Ok" said Rykah happily.

Will smiled, but then quickly thought bout the fact that these people had no idea he existed. He would be on this island by himself forever. But at least Rykah would be happy. And his family could get on without him. As much as his brother and sister fought, they loved eachother. They’d be ok.

Rykah was about to put the radio down when it crackled to life once more, "Hey kid, I'm assuming your transciever was broken, and I know you are no good at fixing technology, So how did you fix it?"
Rykah immediately responded, "I have a freind here with me who was able to fix it, its a long story as to how he got here, but he's here" Rykah grinned at Will,
"At this point I don't really care kiddo," said the guy on the other end, "But I'm already getting on getting you and your freind out of there as soon as possible"
"roger that!" said Rykah setting the radio down

‘Getting you and your friend out of there’…. they were both leaving. Together. Will smiled.

Rykah grinned at Will before hugging him, "Just cause I get to go home doesn't mean I'm leaving you here!" e said, "And even if I can't get you home, I'm sure my mom will just adopt you as her own anyway"

Will smiled, but didn’t say anything, hugging the other boy, taking a minute before letting go.

"You ok?" Asked Rykah, unable to stop smiling

Will nodded.

"Good," He said happily,

“How pong do you think this’ll take?”

"I have no Idea" said Rykah with a sigh,

“Probably not long!”

Rykah grinned happily, "hey do you wanna go see that Lagoon now?"

“Sure!”

Rykah quickly got to his feet, slipping the radio into a pocket and shouldering the satchel before leading the way into the trees.

Will followed, walking faster to keep up with the taller boy.
