Chase pulled away slightly to be able to look at Lucifer, asking softly, “Shouldn’t you go?” His heart sunk at the thought of being alone for a while. He wished they could stay, but he knew that Lucifer probably had things to do other than stay and comfort Chase all the time.
Satan’s Best ‘Friend’ (One on One)(Closed)
Lucifer yawned and sat up. “I guess. Did you want to come with me? We will be riding all over Hell and without someone to talk to would be quite dull.”
“I’d love to,” Chase perked up and a smile found its way to his face. He sat up as well, yesterday’s clothes wrinkled from wearing them to bed. “Uh… could I borrow some clothes?”
Lucifer looked him up and down. “Sure. What sizes do you wear?”
“Small, but medium and large could probably work too,” Chase replied, distracting himself by fingering the hem of his shirt. I wouldn’t mind snuggling up in a too large shirt…
Lucifer nodded and stood up off the bed. “I only have extra larges. But I do have medium sized jeans.”
“That works too,” Chase gave a smile, standing up off the bed too and stretching. he was still kind of surprised by himself. Here he was, far away from his old life, excited to go on a tour of Hell with Lucifer.
Lucifer pulled out the clothes and handed them to him. “The hangers will go away on their own, once you’re done with them.”
“Where should I change?” Chase asked, looking at the pants and oversized shirt. It looked soft and warm…
“You can just go over there.” He pointed to the other end of his bed. “I’ll change over here.”
Chase stared for a second, about to say something but the back of his mind told him that this was Lucifer and he shouldn’t test his luck. He walked over to the other side of the bed and turned away, chewing his lip as he nervously slipped off his shirt. There were scars on his side, one cut still scabbing over, which he unsuccessfully tried to cover up.
Lucifer’s nose twitched and he looked over. He set his clothes down and walked over, gently moving Chase’s hands away from the scab.
“This can get infected if you are not careful, Human.” He set a hand on it. Instantly, it healed.
Chase froze. All his thoughts zapped out of his mind, his whole attention focused on that hand on his side. Over his scars. He didn’t know what to do or what to say- what kind of explanation could he even offer? Chase tried to calm his furiously beating heart, merely waiting- waiting for Lucifer react with something else.
Lucifer ran a hand up his side and the others disappeared. “There. All better.” He patted the skin like a beloved pet and smiled at Chase.
“Carry on.” He trotted back over to his side.
Chase stared at Lucifer for a second, shock mixed with something else hidden in his eyes. He snapped his gaze back to the floor, deciding to pretend that that hadn’t just happened as he tugged on the large soft shirt. It was enough to distract him, at least, from his side and what just happened. Chase slipped off his pants -turning slightly red in the face- before quickly tugging on Lucifer’s spare pair of pants.
Lucifer changed rather quickly, scooping off his shirt and pants to replace them with a neat three part tux. He walked around the bed when he was finished tying his tie.
“Are you ready, Human?”
“Y-Yeah, I’m ready,” Chase nodded as if to affirm it, resisting the urge for his hand to go to his side. Rather, he curled his arms around himself and enjoyed the warm oversized shirt as he waited for Lucifer to lead the way.
Lucifer didn’t move. “Don’t you want to walk alongside me?” He noted Chase’s self-hugging and frowned. “Is there a problem? Did I do something wrong?”
Chase took a breath, unable to look Lucifer in the eyes. He was given only one option, which was to face it, so he whispered, “A-Aren’t you going to… to… I don’t know, aren’t you going to say something?” No one, no one had seen Chase’s side before, and he didn’t know what he expected the reaction to be but it certainly wasn’t… this.
Lucifer grabbed Chase’s hand in his and pulled his arms from off and around him.
“Unless you would like me to, no. I feel you are strong enough to overcome that now. If you cannot… I will be here to help.”
Chase was stunned. He never thought someone would care about him enough to give him freedom and to offer help at the same time. A weight he didn’t know had been sitting on his shoulders lifted off, and all he could do was whisper, “Thank you.”
Lucifer nodded and let his hand go. “I know what it feels like to be trapped in a box. It is why I got kicked out of Heaven. I didn’t like how I was being treated. Now, let us go.” He smiled a bit.
Chase brought up a smile despite everything and walked beside Lucifer this time. His hand missed the warmth of Lucifer’s, but he tried to ignore it and look forward, “So, where are we going first?” Chase asked lightly, taking steady breath.
Lucifer led him outside to the car they’d be taking. It was huge and luxurious. “I think we are going to go to Central first.”
Chase stared at the car. He’d never ridden in something so… lavish and expensive looking. He hesitantly opened the door and slid inside the car, extremely cautious as he entered in fear of damaging something so luxurious.
Lucifer plopped in after him and grabbed up a few bottles of water. A Demon in a tailcoat shut the door. Lucifer cracked open a bottle and handed it to him.
“Here. You need to stay hydrated.”
“Thank you,” Chase sid softly then took the water. He hesistantly opened the water -extremely careful not to spill it- and sipped it. Evne the water tasted expensive- clean and fresh. Chase let out a little smile, telling Lucifer, “I’m not used to this kind of… fancy stuff.”
Lucifer waved a hand. “Get used to it. Don’t worry about doing anything to it. No one cares.” He smiled a bit at the human at his side.
Chase’s small smile grew, and he leaned back and got a little more comfortable as he asked, “What do you normally do around here? What is Hell even like?”
Lucifer shrugged. “It’s kinda warm. But the Demons are nice. It’s nothing to be afraid of.”
