The Innocent and the Bad Boy (CLOSED)

Colton shook his head with a small smile, "Paige, I'm fine, really."

"Your scars don't say fine," she whispered.

Colton looked away, "They're just scars…"

Paige looked down and closed her eyes. "Do you know what I do when I want to forget about something?" she asked, eyes closed.

Colton shook his head, "No, I don't. What do you do?"

"I just think about whatever it is that's bothering me. I picture it right in front of me, then I blow it away. It's gone for the time being, and I replace it with something else. Something… better," she replied her eyes still closed.

Colton swallowed, "But what if you don't want to picture what it is because it…. scares you?"

"You have to. It makes the better thing even more… better. This works for me," she added.

"What do you replace the bad thing with?" He asked.

"Something that makes me feel better or relaxed. Like… mint chocolate chip ice cream or a sunset."

Colton nodded, "I guess I'll give it a go sometime, thanks."

Paige released a breath and opened her eyes again. Whatever she'd thought of, it made her calm again.

Colton was curious as to what she'd thought of but didn't want to press and make her uncomfortable.

Paige's lunch sat untouched at her feet. She wasn't that hungry… Wait, she never was hungry.

Eventually, curiosity got the better of him, "What were you just thinking about?"

She blinked and looked at him. "What?"

"What were you just thinking about?" He repeated quietly.

"A lot of things," she whispered. "My kitten, Snowpaw; sunsets; being here…" She paused. "You; You being happy."

Colton blinked, "M-Me? Being happy?"

"Yeah," she replied, blushing furiously.

"Why?" Colton leaned forward, his face barely inches from hers.

Paige gasped quietly. “Um… I don’t like seeing you sad. When you’re happy, I-I’m happy,” she replied honestly.

Colton didn't reply, he just pressed his mouth gently against her own.

She inhaled sharply out of surprise, then relaxed and kissed him back softly.

He rested his hand on her cheek, deepening the kiss just slightly.

Paige could feel her heart pounding in her chest and hoped that Colton couldn't.

Colton smiled into the kiss and pulled back slightly, "Your heart is going a million miles an hour."

She blushed furiously. “I… I… um…”

He chuckled and rubbed his thumb over her cheek, "You're too cute."

Paige looked at him with doe eyes. “I am?”
