The Innocent and the Bad Boy (CLOSED)

"But please, what are you're favourite fantasy books?"

Paige crossed her arms. "I feel like I'm going to be judged."

"Well I'm not gonna, bad boy's honor." He grinned.

"Really, Mister 'I'll-Name-All-The-Books-I-Think-Are-Better-Than-The-Hunger-Games'?" she teased.

Colton looked down with a small frown, "I won't do it this time…" He muttered.

"I was kidding," she said, quieter this time.

"Still… sorry about um… that…" Colton swallowed.

Paige smiled. "Don't worry about it," she replied, a soft smile stretching on her lips.

"What are your favourite fantasy books, then?" Colton asked again, looking back to her.

"Harry Potter, Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars…" Paige listed. She suddenly stopped and blushed, looking ready for the teasing to come.

"Harry Potter's good. I uh… haven't read the others…" Colton admitted.

Paige feigned shock. "Uncultured," she said shaking her head.

"What?! No, I'm not… uncultured…" Colton mumbled.

"I'm kidding," Paige replied quickly. She could see that she wasn't able to joke around him. It was fine- she could change.

"I know, I know. Sorry, guess I'm just not used to… this." Colton said, flashing her a smile.

Paige's stomach flip-flopped. "So is that a good thing, or a bad thing?"

Colton thought for a moment, "I haven't decided yet, but I'll tell you when I know."

"Okay," she replied, her hands wrestling in her lap. She was getting nervous.

"What's wrong?" Colton asked, cocking his head to the side slightly when he noticed the change in demeanor.

"Nothing," she replied, her hands stopping mid-motion.

Colton frowned a little, "Yet another lie. I know you don't trust me but… why are you so nervous?"

"What?! I'm… I'm not…" Paige bit her lip.

"Your stutter and lip biting proves otherwise." Colton sighed through his nose.

“I’m sorry,” she apologized for the 50th time that day.

"I've told you, you have nothing to be sorry for," Colton looked at his watch and stood up, "I have to go."

“Oh. Where are you going?” Paige asked.

Colton swallowed and looked… nervous for once, "Somewhere. I-It- Doesn't matter."

Paige blinked twice. Was… Waa he stammering? Lying? “I want to go to!” she chirped happily.

"No!" Colton said immediately, "No, you can't. You're not- I won't-"

Paige was confused. “Why can’t I go?”
